Holiday Inn Express BATH by IHG

travel a lot for work and stay in hotels two to three nights a week. I’ve stayed in many hotels, from three-star to five-star. The main reasons I return to a hotel are cleanliness, good service, and friendly staff. Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was disappointing. When I arrived, the front desk staff member did not look professional. His appearance was untidy, with his shirt sleeves rolled up showing his tattoo and his nails were dirty. Which made the hotel feel more like a rough bar than a welcoming place to stay. The check-in was not friendly. He did not say “welcome” or “good afternoon.” He just asked for my last name. When I asked about parking, he told me it was expensive and suggested I park somewhere cheaper five minutes away. I felt this was not helpful and came across the wrong way. I also asked about food. When he mentioned pizza, which I don’t like. I then asked about a restaurant nearby, and he said it was very good but expensive. I felt there was too much focus on price, which made me uncomfortable. As a guest arriving in business attire, I expected a more professional and welcoming service. Instead, I felt judged and slightly insulted. I hope this feedback helps improve the service in the future.

I did not stay there and was unable to change or cancel reservation. I had no luck getting ahold of Expedia, the property staff were kind but could not help me change the date without Expedia?!? I lost all the money and tried am very frustrated! I use Expedia a lot and this was a terrible experience! I hope Expedia reaches out to me to correct this Sure the property was lovely but Expedia really dropped the ball and I paid the price for nothing : (

Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Great location of Bath city centre, just a short walk. We had no problems parking onsite.

Breakfast was good. TV did not work. The space in the room, was unsuitable for 3 people. Finally we experienced a gangerous short circuit that blew up my childs phone charger.

After an incorrect booking at another hotel - the Holiday Inn Express - IHG were on hand to help. The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout my stay. At check in the member of staff explained the parking rules and confirmed a deal for reduced parking rate - Thank you Nella! I would highly recommend staying here and will be staying here again in the future! Thanks

Breakfast was outstanding!!! Parking not applicable. Staff was one of the best that we have ever encountered at any hotel. Lily and Nella made us feel so appreciated and welcome

The hotel was fine, and as expected. The staff were friendly. The parking cost is far too expensive, so we found alternative overnight parking in a city centre car park that was half the cost of the hotel, showing just how expensive the hotel parking is.

Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast and a comfortable room. On site parking was welcome as we had no intention to use our car for the duration of the visit. Good location to explore the City, and some very nice local places to eat and drink in the evening. It was nice to have a hotel bar too.

Clean rooms and bathrooms, decent breakfast and coffee, helpful staff. Overall if you stay without car it's a good hotel for the price. Lower rating due to CRAZY HIGH parking fees! £52 for 24h! Luckily we still got a old price as we booked before the hike.

The hotel itself is fine and everything you expect from a Holiday Inn. My only major negative is the price of parking. At £50 per day (that’s even with discount, should be £80) is a complete rip off and not mentioned on the site. Needs to be more transparent, just says parking is available, no mention of charges.

The room was very clean & comfortable, including the bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, in particular Bobo, who went out of his way to give us sliced limes to go in our gin and was such a lovely cheerful guy with a great sense of humour.

It's within 10 minute walking distance to centre of town. There is an ok but overpriced Indian restaurant, but setting for food. Big Sainsbury's nearby. Property is standard HI Express, clean, ok breakfast. Only real criticism is having stayed at HI Express a lot over the past 5 months in different places for work, would be good if they could vary the breakfast a bit.

Lovely clean rooms, staff very warm and welcoming. Staff are very aware of guests needs. You can get spare towels etc from the front desk. Great breakfast and good eveming menu for the hungry traveller. Nice bar area open 24hrs. We had a very comfortable stay and only 15 minutes walk to the centre of Bath. Will defintely stay again.
