Despite some minor issues with our room(Room 20), i.e. missing drawer knob, TV monitor tilting precariously on the bedroom wall, no additional blankets, I truly cannot praise. EVERY STAFF MEMBER, especially Ruth and Caroline who were top notch with their genuine smile and hospitality THROUGHOUT. Of course, if you guys offer a complimentary car wash in the price...you'd surpass the Waldorf Astoria for an incredible visiting experience.....!

We had a fantasic stay in the Swan. All of the staff were great. The accommodation was first rate. The bed was really comfortable. We had two meals and a breakfast there, they were really nice. It is ideally situated for the village and surrounding countryside. We will be using it again. Thank you for making our visit special.

The hotel ticked all the boxes and was just the job. The decor in the room needed a bit of TLC and the windows needed repair or replacement. The staff however were great, really helpful, attentive and considerate.

The staff at the hotel were excellent and went out of their way to assist us in allowing both an early check in and a late check out as we had an early arrival flight and a late departure flight. The room was quite spacious for a single room, the only downside was that the rooms were very warm. The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of town.

Lovely hotel/ room and staff. Food tasted amazing but breakfast seemed a bit disorganised. Having to squeeze past tables to get milk for my coffee which could have just been left on the table prior and then no butter for toast and I didn’t want to ask by this point. Thought maybe these things should of been pointed out

My second visit in 2 months based on my first, very positive experience. Again I booked the dinner, bed and breakfast package for a similar value to a bed and breakfast stay elsewhere. I was given a room on the ground floor close to the dining area and rear entrance which suited me fine. Parking was easy and dinner was tremendous. I went for the same walk to Chawton. A great night's sleep was followed by a great breakfast and I left again very fulfilled with my accommodation experience.

Do not book this hotel if you have heavy luggage as many flights of stairs are involved in getting to your room. Corridors and doors need a paint job as many are scratched and dented. Carpets are worn and soiled. In our room, the heated towel rail would not switch on and the back of the door handle was missing. We walked in one day and a guest was trying to check out but couldn’t find anyone to help her. The dining room chairs look as if they came out of a thrift store. Mine was heavily stained. The building is listed but that in no excuse to let it run down.

Greater warmly by Ryan who checked us in & showed us our room. Room was clean & adequate for one night. Bed comfy & clean soft sheets. Parking was available but we were unable to gain access due to a fire up the high street. Bar staff lovely. Restaurant very nice comfortable & food was really nice.

This is a very nice little inn. My wife and I love to stay here every time we come to visit family in Alton. It is just what we are looking for: a nice, clean place to spend the night. Highly rated.

Overall, it did the job. Parking was easy with CCTV protection. Excellent service, spotlessly clean with good food and fine wine. It is an old building and the decor was tired in places however, it was very reasonably priced and a good town centre location.

Located in the high street with parking it was ideal for a one night stopover. Room was very pleasant & spacious and comfy bed. Breakfast was really good- buffet items plus cooked to order menu. Couldn’t fault anything. Excellent value for money.

It was a good visit. No complaints. I will say that the picture of it being by water was a mystery. No river or canal in sight. But cost effective trip, if you have dietary requirements, don’t pre-book the dinner as it’s a different / limited menu.

For a consecutive month, I booked with a Greene King Inn to include an evening meal with the breakfast. The hotel is situated in the middle of a busy high street with great parking at the rear which is easily accessible. I was warmly welcomed and directed to my room which was nice and clean. It was warm and I asked for a fan which was supplied quickly. I went for a 1 hour speed walk and came across a village called Chawton which was a lovely part of the world to walk around. The included evening meal was really enjoyable and served in good time. I had a solid night's sleep and a hearty breakfast got me off to the best start. I would proactively look to book here again next time I am down there.

didnt use the bar personally, so can't comment, but the room we stayed in was extremely clean, the staff were very helpful, no problems with parking and fir residents staying at the Swan 20% discount on all food bought in the restaurant! very pleased
