Yeah, the room was very clean and quite modern, it was on the ground floor near the car park, so it was ideal for me.

Fantastic value. I always stay here when in the area for work. It’s probably not the fanciest or the most luxurious but it’s always very clean and comfortable, no complaints at all

Advert for hotel states food availability. There is none also no bar. Food establishments are very close to hotel. We planned to get a meal and possibly breakfast but not available. This has been like this for the last few years. Advertising needs to change

Booked a 4 nights changed rooms 3 times due to no showers working. Was told they had no more rooms and would be fully reimbursed. 6 weeks later still waiting for refunds I had to book the Mill just round the corner and it was bloody amazing.. Stay well clear on the crown

Arrived at site, no parking…went into reception had to wait 20 minutes for my key to my room, went into hotel room, the toilet hadn’t been flushed. Beds were actually okay, room was extremely outdated and not the cleanest, piegons outside windows all night and day, no maintenance outside the property by the looks of it. Overall not a good experience, I don’t usually leave reviews but this one I had too. Had to pay for parking 2-3 streets down from the hotel privately.

This is our second stay at the Talbot, first was late summer 2024. Atm, the pub part of the hotel is closed and meals were not offered. Local gossip said the hotel was being used for asylum/immigrants, I saw no evidence of this and the clients seemed to be mostly couples and businesses. Dad and I stayed in a twin room, it had a large shower, no bath, desk, tv (not in hotel mode so streaming stick was easy to use), slightly larger than sister’s double. WiFi was good in the room and handled streaming a movie while web/social media browsing. Staff were helpful. Remember to register your car in the terminal at reception and set duration of stay to avoid charges. Only negative point is that there needs to be a towel rail or holder in the bathroom.

This was my sister’s room, a double. She reported that the mattress was adequate, room warm. Shower door broke on first use but was fixed while we were out during the day. The room slightly smaller than the twin my dad and I used.

The location was the main thing for me, being centrally located. This could be an issue at weekends with outside noise, but it wasn't too bad. The hotel looks a bit tired in places, but it is clean.

The hotel was extremely run down. Its in the midst of some kind of renovation or demolition, I couldn't quite tell. The room was dated and that's being kind. The duvet had stains on it, there was a load of toilet paper unflushed in the loo and there was a towel on the back of the bathroom door that either had curry or sh*t on it. If there was literally anywhere else to stay at that time of night, I would have left. The worst place I think I've ever stayed. Don't do it, save yourselves!!
