The Ibis Historical Centre Hotel location goes a long way with regards to this review.
On a positive note, staff were helpful, cheerful, and spoke various languages. The reception area was inviting, with a side bar area with seating. Our room, which was 614, was a double room, with on suite shower, washbasin, and toilet. The double bed being comfortable. Breakfast was good, being continental, but for us lacked any selection of tomato's. On other reviews the size of the rooms are mentioned a lot, being on the small size. This is somewhat unfair, yes for two people the room was practical, with space to move around with two chairs and a side desktop. Downside was the lack of space and storage for clothes for two people. Fine for one person. Pillows on the bed for us were way to soft, with us needing two each, which still wasn't enough.
A 15 minute walk from the Strasbourg main station. The hotel is located on a main road junction with a tramway line connection as well. Opposite the hotel there a Modern Art Museum, where you can get a number 10 bus into the centre of the old quarter of Strasbourg near to the cathedral. The hotel is but a short walk into the quarter called Petite France, turning right from the hotel entrance, and right again at the second junction. Plenty of shops, bars and restaurant's, with the usual tourist shops as well.
