Very unhelpful staff. Called twice and inquired about park only to find out that parking was not near the premises. Ended up with parking ticket because staff was incapable to tell me there was a market early in the morning in the parking in front of the hotel. She waived 2 euros city tax as compensation, what a joke!!

Single mother (57) with 2 x 12yr old girls - we all loved our stay here. Hotel was lovely and clean - no dramas. Staff were excellent from reception to waiting staff and cleaning staff and of course the kitchen staff - all very busy and all fantastic - nothing too much trouble. Food was excellent and was the food - well done the chefs!! Hotel location is fabulous and close to everything and Malcesine easy to get about either by walking or using the ferries to other parts of the lake. Trying to book for next week but so far sold out on dates selected ugh!!!!

I was greeted by extremely helpful and friendly staff, st the hotel. They made every effort to do anything they were able to help make your stay enjoyable. Enjoyed a couple of meals in the hotel restaurant which is also open to the public, and appreciated 10% discount as a guest of the hotel, (although I did not find restaurant staff quite as friendly as the hotel staff). The bed was very comfortable, bathroom was small but had a good shower, The maid cleaned the room/refreshed towels etc beautifully each day. although I was directly above restaurant the soundproofing was excellent, I didn't hear anything at all apart from very distant music at the restaurant closes in any case at 10:30 PM and it definitely wasn't disturbing. Lovely views out onto the square of the mountain from my room, with the harbour, cafes, boats, restaurants literally two minutes walk in one direction, whilst in the other direction you are right in the town, with the bus station and further connections available two minutes walk away! Great to have decent air-conditioning and Wi-Fi in the bedrooms, not always standard in a two star hotel, but very much needed especially in the hot weather. The hotel is in such a good location, also a really good breakfast selection, putting some three star hotel breakfasts to shame - I will definitely be back on my next trip to the lake.

We don't go anywhere twice, except here. A family restaurant and hotel in the old town. We like it because you are in the heart of the town, walk down the side of the hotel and you are at the harbour. Walk up the road and you have the bus station, bike hire etc. A family run hotel which is immaculately clean. 2stars relates to the lack of pool (walk down the side of the lake and swim like the locals) and sun bathing area etc. We live in the country and with the double glazing and shutters had no problem sleeping. We tried various restaurants, but in the endured our discount card and ate downstairs, the food is better, you can sit inside (no smoking, and with air-con) or outside, you are not squashed into a tiny area. Warning:- the potions are huge, share the starters or you will crash on the mains. The bread and oil is nice, but you will never manage a starter and main, even after a day walking the mountains. The house wines are fantastic, especially the rose. The staff are great, hotel and restaurant, everything is geared to looking after you. Brilliant, we love it and would never go to the bigger places out of town.

The hotel is very centrally situated, although there is some noise in the early morning when streets are being cleaned and vans are unloading. Patrizia, in reception, was particularly helpful. Towels and sheets were changed regularly. Breakfast was plentiful, although fairly standard. Overall, decent value for money.

After booking hotel alpino as a low cost accommodation for a quick break in malcesine we were very surprised upon our arrival that the hotel was only advertised as a 2 star. The location is perfect for a stay in malcesine and the hotel itself is far better than expected after reading previous comments. The hotel staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble for them. I would definatly recommend this hotel for short break

Great family run hotel where the family and staff went the extra mile to please, despite a personal tragedy the family endured during our stay. Lovely clean hotel with great restaurant . In our view under rated as 2*. The position close to lake for trips on lake or by bus from the nearby bus stop make it a fabulous choice to stay for anywhere on the lake. Also close by is the cable car for trips to top of mount Baldo. We had such a fabulous time we are afraid to speak so loudly in case we cannot get in next time we visit !! But that would be unfair as it truly is a wonderful hotel in a great place. Thank you to all the family and staff for making our holiday truly one to remember.
