Great place for a family getaway.
A nice hotel but the bathroom need a renewals
Great resort for family vacation
My daughter enjoy the giant slide from the adventure zone and the pool is awesome
Highly recommended for family vacation
Favourite place for my family and kids love so much
Room toilet is a bit old and things were worn out. Some improvement needed.
Although they gave my room at 5 pm , they allowed my request to check out late in order to compensate for the delay. Overall I had a great time with my mom.
great hotel, great view, great food, great atmosphere.. 10 of 10. P/s don't forget to ask room with bathtub on reservation if you need it because not every room have bathtub.
Good location near pasar malam, big room and great swimming pool.

Fabulous staff, nice hotel grounds but it clearly shows signs of her glory days.
What we love about our stay: The hotel staff. They are all smiley, super engaging and you can see passion when they work regardless of the hour. The grounds of the hotel is very pretty and well maintained. We were on the family fun package FFP suited for kids 6 and below and this good value. It comprised of breakfast and dinners with free flow soft drinks and beer/wine, discount for spa services and lifeguards watching over the kids. We love the check in. As a golden sands members, you get to check in at the lounge. If you are not a member, do go online to enrol. As our stay was during the festivities of the 9 emperor gods, the great local food stalls that we love were all closed. This made the FFP even better value as we had all our meals inhouse. Breakfast is awesome. The spread is amazing! The hotel convenience shop located nearer to the entrance of the hotel is very reasonably priced. Competition is keen and this helps hotel goers like myself stay in house to purchase vs off property. The mobile massage therapist Linda (I believe) would go around asking guests who are sitting by the pools if they would like foot reflexology of a back massage. Great way to have some timeout if the kiddo is anywhere within the radar. Pricing is also very reasonable (exchange rate) The Adventure Zone! What can we say, our son loves the team there dearly. He has made friends and memories that will last a lifetime. Special thanks to AZ staff as they engaged my son through his play time. We also signed him up for a half day of activity where he could be dropped off and we “ran off to go shopping” The special change room. Our flight on return was late hence we could leave around 4. They offered us a change room where we could take a shower after checkout. This is a lovely gesture, thank you. What we think could be looked into: The room block clearly shows the glory days and in high need of an upgrade. The room was clean but old. The bathtub had stains that would not come off, the overflow cover was loose and moving making it unsightly. The phone direct dial to the operator was also not working. For the family fun package, breakfast and dinner are at the same place making it really uninteresting for the guests. It would be great to have dinner at a separate venue as you can imagine similar cuisine for dinner X 3 nights. Location of the room. We are given a garden view room for the package and we requested for something close to the pool. Anyway, we got what we requested for. However its not the best location. If you are intending to rest, there is a mosque right below and with multiple prayers daily, if you are not used to it, it could be fairly disruptive to your rest. You can either select a room facing the pool or ask them for a room further away from the Rasa Sayang.

Great Fun!
A hotel perfect for a family getaway! My 7 year old daughter enjoyed this trip so much that she wants to be back again! Pools are kid friendly, they even have activities from morning to keep them busy so that parents can go foodie hunting. Yep, you can leave the kids for a fun filled time while you go search for that famous char koay teow and not having to drag your kids along! Highly recommended!

Still love it after 14 years but....
We have been staying at the Golden Sands yearly since 2003. A great holiday that we look forward to and we have made some lovely friends over the years. The staff are amazing, always happy to assist and always with a smile. Breakfast is great and we use it as a guage for other hotels, however, during the busy times (predominantly weekends)we choose to have breakfast ar Sigi's if open. We did find the carpets on the floor we were on were needing attention as with the soft furnishings in the rooms. The hotel is possibly in the need for a little facelift IMO. The pool area is great and well attended by the staff. Housekeeping staff were very attentive and happy to provide extra pillows etc. All in all we had another excellent stay at the GSH and will happily return next year.

Offsite Meeting
Stayed 2 nights for a meeting in one of the meeting rooms in the resort. The room is tired but still very well maintained and very neatly kept. The breakfast spread is decent. Staffs were helpful - got one of them in the Cool Lounge to help le print out my boarding pass. Considering the age of the property and the service, value for money.

Hotel good - swimming pools are packed - staff average
The hotel and grounds are nice, the buffet breakfast was nice. However there are two main points that really made my stay here unpleasant. - The staff, some of the staff are seriously lacking in customer service, I got the vibe that they didn't care and never really made the effort to provide any decent customer service. For example, when you are checking in, I found it similar to 'self check in', I found it similar because there was no communication or smiles or any talk, almost like a business transaction. The staff near the pools are the same. - The pools, the pools are full of screaming adults and kids. I mean absolutely packed. In some hotels you might have difficulty getting a chair/lounge by the pool, here you would be lucky to get into the bloody swimming pool. And once your in forget about any swimming or relaxation.
