Spacious and clean room with comfy beds! Not super close to the airport, though.

We have stayed in a lot of hotels over our travels. THIS WAS PROBABLY THE BEST SERVICE BY STAFF IN 30 years. The front desk helped us in every possible way. The breakfast was very good, the staff serving the buffet was very tentative to our needs. The only time during our weeks stay ( ha ha) that I was told no was when I asked for a tooth pick.

Overall, I had an awesome experience at this hotel. The room was clean, in decent condition, and the shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The restaurant downstairs was decent. We had a server who was awesome but I never got his name. The hotel is near a university and there are plenty of walking paths to enjoy if you like to get out and about. Also, it's very close to a bus stop. Just know, if you stay at this property, the bus ride into Edinburgh is 45-50 minutes. My only major issue of contention is Marriott's 'free drink in lieu of your room being cleaned'. Apparently both the first and last night don't count... so if you forego room cleaning after your first night the whole next day, that doesn't count. We were told "It's in the small print". Marriott should be ashamed. Their cost for one beverage is far less than the cost of paying someone to clean a room, yet they mislead the customers... VERY DISAPPOINTED in this part.

Clean room to begin win but unfortunately the housekeeping was not the best as we stayed 3 nights and the room was never hoovered in that time. Granted we got fresh towels, teabags got missed but I was able to pick up some from the staff downstairs. All staff very helpful and welcoming.

food wad good both at breakfast and light dinner. Few choices for dinner. No fridge in room.

Location is close to the airport, has busses to the city ~$3 one way ~25 min, very convenient.

The only thing that lets the hotel down is the breakfast, very poor

I recently stayed at Edinburgh Marriott Hotel West, and unfortunately, my experience was not as comfortable as I had expected. The main issue was with the bathroom design. The toilet door had roughly a 1-inch gap, which meant there was a clear line of sight both from inside and outside. If someone was using the toilet, the other person in the room could easily see them. This was extremely uncomfortable, especially since I was sharing the room with a friend. We both found ourselves feeling awkward and uncomfortable multiple times when using the bathroom. I chose not to raise this during my stay because I didn’t want to create an awkward situation with my friend, but it did affect our overall comfort quite a bit. Privacy in a bathroom is a very basic expectation, and this setup simply did not meet that standard. After my stay, I contacted support twice and was told that the hotel would get back to me. Unfortunately, I never received any response, which added to my disappointment. I’m not someone who likes leaving negative reviews, and I would have preferred to resolve this directly. However, due to the lack of response and the nature of the issue, I felt it was important to share my experience. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and addresses the privacy concern so future guests do not have to go through the same situation.

A lovely stay in a very convenient location for our visit to Edinburgh

When you book through hotels.com you can't amend your stay, e.g. shorten it by a day, once the stay has started. So I'm out by over a hundred quid just because I booked through this crappy website instead of direct.

Nice quiet location

Lovely fresh clean uncluttered room. Pleasant breakfast area and nice breakfast

The staff were absolutely amazing! I couldn’t say one negative thing about them. Very helpful giving directions etc unfortunately we had issues with the cleanliness of our room and had to change. One room had what appeared to be blood on the wall. Very disappointed as this hotel is supposed to be a 4 star.

It was clean and quiet and worth the visit

Very clean, very friendly staff especially Matthew, he briefed us on various attractions. Food was good @the avenue located inside the hotel.
