The rooms with Marina views had plenty of afternoon sun, a beach view was morning sun. The Half Board buffet evening meal was only high season, Expedia didn't make that clear when booking, however the restaurant provided wonderful menu with lots of choice and really good food, (service was relaxed but friendly).

The room had a balcony which had a great view of the ocean, beach and castle. Excellent! There were various eateries and shopping within walking distance. Very convenient! I would to come back.

Very well situated hotel. Very nice clean room. Helpful staff. Downside is pool and annoying poolside music but the beach is very close. Stayed here three times and if in Alicante again would use this hotel again.

This hotel is in a good location but I didn't like how the facilities are designed so didn't use them. The restaurant is in a corridor and the pool was mainly in the shade. The bathroom flooded every time the shower was used due to poor design. The cold shower problem was never resolved.

Loved Alicante . Our room was great….unfortunately it was the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in . We were on the Marina side opposite a bar that plays music until midnight…when you add the hotel events it becomes very noisy. Not many outside areas … pool was very small and compact and airless. We did half board but would not do again . There are so many great restaurants to eat at . Playa San Juan was lovely …

My stay at Melia Alicante was fantastic! Perfectly located next to the beach, my room had stunning sea views. The hotel is modern, with a beautiful pool, and is just steps from the charming Old Town and Santa Bárbara Castle. Highly recommend for a relaxing, convenient getaway!

Went here for a Karate seminar, was very impressed by the hotel, reasonably priced food and drinks and a great selection at the breakfast buffet. Staff were great but struggled to cope when it got busy which is fair enough
