Worst Hostel ever...
The Centaur Hotel is the WORST hotel I ever been in…. I know, it is very cheap (6,5 dollar a night for a “private room”). It is the price including breakfast… Just forget that! There is NO breakfast! And if you complain about that, they suddenly only understand the Thai language… The rooms are VERY small, just enough for a bed, WITHOUT any linen, no airco, and a fan that works very bad! The guests are mostly African refugees who want money from you, and the staff is VERY UNFRIENDLY It is a good hotel when you feel lonely because you have MANY uninvited guests in your room at night (= BIG COCKROACHES). They promise the hotel has quick internet. Forget it… There is only (very slow) internet at the reception. NO INTERNET on the first, second and third floor! I heard many other guests complaining about the theft from the rooms… DO NOT STAY HERE AS A SINGLE WOMAN!!!!!

Bedbugs, disgusting and smelly
Terrible!!! First room the bedbugs were literally running over the bed. Changed room, didn't see any there but next day itchy all over our bodies. The hotel smells really bad, it's old, dirty bathroom, staff don't talk to you, it's a bad neighbourhood. Do not go here!

Flagrant Dishonesty
When you book with the cheapest establishment in the area by a country mile, you don't expect great things - we were happy just to get a private room with ensuite and aircon for that price - but you also don't expect the owners to lie through their teeth just to get your money. The room we booked on Agoda was touted as having 'aircon' (tick), 'shower' (tick), wifi (hmm....half tick), but that's about where their honesty left them. We didn't so much mind the broken window that had come off its roller; the faulty front door which couldn't be padlocked from the outside, nor snibbed from the inside; the chips in the wall, aircon remote hanging from naked wiring, or even the section of ceiling that had been patched up with a poster and boxing tape. What we DID object to was booking on the basis that the room's facilities included a 'refrigerator, flatscreen TV [and] satellite/cable TV' - none of which even exist on the premises! When you're the cheapest hotel and hostel in the vicinity, it's really not necessary to create blatantly dishonest advertisements to attract patrons; all that's necessary is that you honestly portray the facilities on offer. I really hope Agoda gets its act together soon to eliminate these examples of deceptive conduct and false advertising through their website and mobile applications.

The cheapest place in Bangkok
We saw bad references before coming here, but decided to take a chance. It was the cheapest option in BKK if you book with Agoda. The staff was surprisingly friendly. They allowed to check-in at 10.00, no matter than check-in is usually at 14.00. The room of course is not clean, everything is very old. But has everything basically needed. Ensuite bathroom, mirror, table and chair, fan. Window looks nowhere, in the wall of next house. Laundry available. Wifi was good, both in the lobby (where they have chairs and tables) and room. Location is very nice. Local market with food is 2 minutes walking. 7|11 is 4 minutes walking, big Tesco 10 minutes by motorbike.
