Convenient location, cozy and clean rooms, great breakfast buffet, and friendly staff. Would love to stay here again.
8.4
Nice view. We upgraded from business studio to Deluxe room type which was bigger and nicer. Should be improved on food and cocktail at the restaurant but the roof top bar was good esp. with 50% happy hours promotion.

One of the worst stay in Thailand
No racial offence but I think this hotel prefer the Caucasian crowd. Reception layout was a mess and the staff kinda pick and choose who they'd like to serve the best. Even when they're done, they would not even greet you with a "Sawatdeekrup" at all. Especially if you are booking through a third party website like agoda or hotels.com, I would not even bother to tick for any special request because they don't care at all. Asked for a high floor and was placed in the lowest. Asked for a non-smoking room, the corridor smells like a chimney. Asked for a view towards W-Hotel, they gave the view towards the Krungsri Bank (and literally, you'll see people working hard in the office). Location wise, other than the extremely close proximity to the BTS (with the up escalator) and the coffee club downstairs, there's virtually nothing at all. Room service was quite terrible. 4 fried springrolls for 120 baht and 3 mouthful of a so-called "pork chop" for 180 baht is almost like a daylight robbery. Furthermore, they DO NOT serves any drinks. When I ask for coffee, they reply in a sarcastic sense that there's a soluble coffee services in your room, of which I prefer a brewed coffee. Was quite tired that night and did not notice the coffee club downstairs, but the hotel staff could have informed me of the coffee club or perhaps even do a delivery service for the hotel only from the coffee club. I arrived in the hotel at about 11:30pm, and there were no bellhop at all upon my arrival at the doorsteps. (Actually, if I am not mistaken, I saw 1 bellhop, of which he saw me with my 3 luggages and ran off to avoid duty).Just as I was doing the check in, bellhop started to hog onto my luggages. Upon check-in, the receptionist kinda screamed out my room number to the bellhop (in Thai) of which I felt that it was rude. Bellhop jumped in together with me to the lift and can't even bothered to press the button to the level that we are going to. (By the way, out of 5 lifts, only 1 can go up to my floor due to the renovation work of the L1 lobby). After leaving the luggages at the walk in closet, bellhop was standing there, kinda expecting a tip. Gave 100 baht and was kinda hoping that was one of the last experience that I'm getting. There was an offer for a 250 baht breakfast buffet at the hotel's restaurant called "The Sathorn". When I asked about it, the receptionist kinda tell me that it can be purchased later (either on the actual day when I wanted the breakfast or whenever I felt like it), of which I think he was just lazy to sell me the tickets. The next day, when I came back to ask for the breakfast, they told me that it was supposed to be made during check in and they are doing me a deal and a one off selling the ticket to me as a favour. This really makes me felt quite disgusted, and the worst part is that the range of the breakfast menu is terrible. Had I known about the quality, never in a million years I'd pay a visit even. Honestly, for 250 baht, I think I can have a lot more. Choices were limited, some toast, egg station, bacon, sausages, Pad-Thai, Ba-Mee Station and that's it. There are ongoing deals at foodland (near patpong) offering American breakfast with fruit drinks at 62 baht only. The staff are quite not attentive as well. Given that this was a buffet and I went for a second round, waitress just come and clean up everything as if I'm leaving. They also do not fill up the sugar tray, of which I asked twice out of the three times I had the breakfast there. One final note, they don't change the table mat. Any small food residual on it (such as bread crumbs or cake drops), the waitress would kinda wipe it with a wet cloth and sweep it down the floor. Room cleaning and tidying service was again terrible. I don't think that they have change my bedsheet, not even once throughout my 5 nights stay in the hotel. Attention was not being paid at all for the usage of the shampoo and stuff and some days were not being replenished at all. Coffee trays are stained, and no one washes the cups throughout the 5 days of my stay. Good luck for anyone drinking from the provided cups. Carpeted floor were not being vacuumed (but it they did, maybe they did not do it well) and the tile floors were not thoroughly mopped. Bathroom was a bit scummy and the vanity top was kinda dusty. Room layout was quite terrible. I booked myself into an Executive room, of which it is 50m² (as it claims in the agoda website). Layout was so poor, that it will make you feel like there's no difference between this room and the 36m² typical hotel room that you get from any other hotel, due to the inefficient space planning of the room. With 50m², one can easily have a living room (and even a kitchen). Electronics in the rooms were rather primitive and the electrical outlets were located at a rather odd and inaccessible position. Window blinds are still manually controlled, and there were no desk lamp. Was kinda hard to write. To conclude, I would not recommend friends and family to stay here. If they are on a budget, I-Residence and Heritage at Chong Nonsi Station would have somewhat the same or even a bit better quality (in terms of cleanliness) than Mode Sathorn (and they even serve watermelon juice to your room, with 7-11 right at your doorsteps). And if one wanted a bit more classier and can afford a bit more, Eastin Hotel from across the road would have been better, and better access to BTS.

Good hotel but room need cleanliness
THE GOOD: Location with a BTS station just steps away and restaurants/stores within walking distance. Views are excellent, our room was at the 31st floor. Good breakfast. Pool is great. THE BAD. As soon as we walked in the room smelled musty. We were so tired from a delayed flight that we did not say anything and just wanted to lay down. The next day we noticed that the housekeeping lady did not clean the room thorougly. I saw her cleaning equipment and she did not have a broom, mop or duster, therefore the room had lot of dust. Overall I would recommend this hotel, just be mindful about room cleanliness.

Transit stay, perfect location
Booked two rooms for transit stay with two couples. Received complimentary upgrade to two bedroom unit, on 36th floor. Very nice staff. Helpful. Very nice pool area on level 11. Right near BTS Surasak station, walking distance to good shops and embassies.

First Class Hotel
There isn't much in the immediate area of this hotel apart from a seven eleven on the corner which did come in handy. However the sky train stops right outside the door and you can travel to the city centre in minutes and the shuttle to Astique on the waterfront is only one stop away. I was travelling alone but the staff were all very friendly and made me feel very welcome. I arrived early in the morning and they rushed to get a room ready for me in a couple of hours. There is a lovely pool with a bar and showers and changing rooms poolside. As for the room, it was amazing!! Absolutely beautiful with stand alone bath, very comfortable bed and fantastic views. I was on the 35th floor. Would highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay.

The staff is the true star here!
The staff is what makes this property memorable. They are all helpful and eager to please, and seem to love their jobs without expecting tips for helping guests out with their requests. As one pleasantly surprising example, my wife and I came back from a birthday dinner to our room to see a piece of cake with a Happy Birthday note written to her from the hotel. We never told anyone we were there to celebrate her birthday and it took us a few minutes trying to figure out how the hotel staff knew until we realized that they must have read that information from her passport when we checked in. They're proactive in that way, going out of their way to make guests have an enjoyable stay. The breakfast is quite extensive with lots of choices. They open early, at 6am, which worked out perfectly well since we arrived at dawn and were able to enjoy the feast before going to sleep after a long redeye flight. Room was a bit smaller than I was expecting, but quite comfortable with a nice city view. Infinity pool area was pretty. Rooftop bar offered even better views. Hotel is located directly next to the BTS Surasak station, which puts the rest of Bangkok at your fingertips. Which is good, because I found the area around the hotel itself to be rather boring. It's in a quiet residential area and not at all the typical image most people have of Bangkok with its 24 hour buzz and street vendors everywhere. To see that, you'll have to take the train a few stops away. But for an oasis of calm in the middle of a very hectic and vibrant city, the Mode Sathorn is an excellent choice.
