Room was very clean and bed very comfortable Breakfast was really good

Don’t be put off with the outside of the hotel it’s a bit shabby and need some TLC however inside was lovely staff where lovely too. The parking was a bit expensive £44 for 48hrs I do think should be free or reduced rate for people using the hotel! Other than that we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the hotel .

The staff were ok (the friendliest was the lady in the breakfast room & the chamber-maid. The hotel seriously needs modernising and looks shabby/dirty in places. Felt like I didn’t want to touch anything.. including the lift. Room was ok and had everything we needed. All in all the hotel is ok for a night away in Cardiff and super close to castle, principality and city centre.

The staff were very helpful. The room was clean and well kept. Unfortunately there was no parking at the hotel.

I enjoyed my time at The Angel Hotel, Cardiff. I agree with other people's comments that there is a musty smell when you walk in and you can hear people in the next room but the staff were brilliant. Joey on reception, Anton and the other chap in the bar and the lady housekeeper on my floor, were very accommodating, kind and helpful. The hotel is old and has character but could do with a refresh. It is not far from the centre but within walking distance of all the sites. I thought the food was good and the drinks were reasonably priced compared to a local bar round the corner. Had no probs with the wifi and no probs checking in a bit early.

Room very disappointing for a deluxe suite. Lots of issues including very tired looking, lamp not working, bathroom sink chipped, grouting also not good on floor tiles or wall tiles, poor lighting over shower, poor lighting in seating area paintwork old and tired. One sofa does not make a deluxe suite. Tea/coffee making facilities not very good literally the bare minimum of items provided. Cushions on bed looked dirty. Wall switches not matching some chrome some not. Just very poor. Overall very dissatisfied. Stayed here a couple of years ago and seems to have gone downhill badly.

Staff were great, the bathroom unfortunately smelt very mouldy and like a drain. The window glass in the bathroom was cracked.

Room was ok, after reading reviews about the breakfast, it was a bit disappointing with the bacon , tomatoes, sausage being precooked and very dry, There was not menu people for breakfast and could have been grilled fresh and waited a bit longer to be served.

Room was excellent we were upgraded to a suite. Breakfast was also lovely. Would definitely stay again

Very clean room, good value for money. Outside is a little run down needs painting (used beer glass on window ledge?) I booked a single room early on the first floor and ended up on 3rd floor with double room wanted first floor. Window was very small and needed a good paint a very grubby window wouldn't open, let the room down. But great location stayed there before.

We managed to get our luggage up in the lift then it broke down. My husband is nearly 70 I suffer from asthma. Every time I had to climb the stairs to the 2nd floor I had an asthma attack. I’ve never used my inhaler so much as these couple of days. I also phoned for room service on Saturday for a drink as my breathing was bad. But due to the match they didn’t answer. Absolutely dreadful. It spoilt our weekend as the room itself was great.
