Bathrooms very tired lots of lights out

Room was nice and spacious, very accommodating, breakfast had plenty of options the hash browns could do to be a bit more well done but otherwise it was good! There was an event on whilst we stayed there which could have been better organised so all the people attending the event stay at one part of the hotel so that drunk attendees weren’t shouting and screaming and playing loud music at 1am in the morning!

The staff were all amazingly professional, polite and pleasant at all times throughout our stay. Breakfast was lovely, fresh and delicious. The hotel is a short taxi ride (or even a longer walk) from Chester Centre and we noted pubs all along the route we took in a taxi. The pool was lovely but often children were in - perhaps have a child free couple of hours mid day. Very very happy with our stay.

Room was really dirty, pillow had black marks that looked like someone had stood on them, like black foot prints, Big piece of glass on the side table that came loose, we had to move it as travlleing with a toddler is was so dangerous. Everything was covered in dirt. Radiator dident come on at all. Room smelt really bad. Wouldent stay again.

And mid aged receptionist was slow. Was not to bothered that people were waiting in a queue waiting to be attended too. Too busy talking about personal life. Bar and breakfast staff were really pleasant and helpful Overall the property can do with an update. Had creaky floors in my room . Squeaky mattress and a loose toilet.

Convenient for Wrexham away

The hotel was dated and is in need of updating however the rooms were clean and the staff were very Friendly But I couldn’t moan for the price we paid.

Shower was cold, dirt on air vents.

Breakfast was amazing and so hot and fresh and nice flavours and had a large option of choice for everyone , room was so clean and nice shower was red hot and lovely and the room was quiet

The manager was very good and agreed to us having a refund as I am disabled and the room was not accessible for my needs

Very clean very good staff

Very basic & not in any way pleasant. A tired looking room. Decor in need of refurbishment, paint chipped & scuffed skirting boards. A small room with window attracting condensation. It was very oppressive. We wouldn't wish to stay with same hotel chain again. The hot tap didn't dispense any water as seized up so no bath only shower. Disappointed.

Withon half an hour of being there we had a power cut then at half 2 in the morning the toilet started naking weird noises and leaking sll over bathroom floor we were given a different room in the end.

I have stayed at the Mercure several times this year and find it absolutely lovely..Good clean rooms, Stella Breakfast and very efficient and good natured staff. Spa is rather busy with swimming lessons in the day but peaceful after 7.30pm I would rate the hotel 5 star except that the bar food is poor. Overpriced, meagre standard and quality.. so bring your own sandwiches but certainly sign up for breakfast
