had a very concerning experience staying here and would not recommend this property.
Our room had a strong musty smell and there was visible mold present. The building overall felt rundown and poorly maintained. The smell on the top floor was particularly bad.
Early the next morning around 6 AM, construction started in the room next door. Staff had opened multiple doors throughout the hallway and outside, and the odor coming through the floor was overwhelming. The smell was so strong that I could barely breathe upstairs. I admit I’m somewhat sensitive to these types of smells, but the air quality was extremely poor.
Because of this, we checked out early. I raised the issue directly with the front desk, but the response was very dismissive and no effort was made to resolve the situation.
After leaving, I contacted the hotel and was told the issue would be escalated. I received one email and then no follow up at all. It has now been over a month and I still have not received a response regarding the refund I requested.
Unfortunately, we both became sick after the stay and I ended up going to the hospital the next day with symptoms consistent with mold exposure. The symptoms lasted for weeks.
Between the visible mold, construction noise at 7 AM of what I assumed was an extremely exposed moulded room next-door, extremely poor air quality, and the complete lack of follow up from management, this was a very disappointing experience.
