The hotel is very interesting with it's prison history, though that is also slightly a hinderance. We were in the Houses of Correction and it didn't really feel part of the hotel, you had to leave the main hotel travel across the courtyard to another building that actually felt a little bit like a travel lodge heading to our room. The staff were amazing though, from check-in, to room service, to breakfast and checkout - So absolutely nothing to fault there! I'd just recommend requesting a room in the main part of the hotel as that might be better than what we had.

Stayed one night, room was nice - clean and spacious, lovely bathroom and amenities. Had the breakfast the next day and it was one of the nicest hotel breakfasts I've had. Lots of choice included. Only personal gripe is that the website doesn't highlight that some rooms are only accessible via stairs (think they might have been putting in a lift at the time) I would have booked different rooms within the hotel if I'd realised but that wouldn't be an issue for most people.

Excellent place, immaculately clean. Staff were superb. Great location for getting around the City. If I had a criticism, it relates to the cost of breakfast. For the amount charged I would expect high quality ingredients - the cooked breakfast presented was of the same standard as Premier Inn/Travelodge. The continental option lacked cheese and meats and again, the selection did not live up to the price charged. Hotel great, breakfast disappointing.

A lovely night away with a fantastic breakfast. Quirky staying in an old jail but enjoyed the atmosphere and history. Breakfast was amazing. Freshly cooked and ample selection in the continental area. A great place to stay.

Staff were very friendly - nice check-in and we were given complimentary cocktails when I mentioned we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Room amenities were good (comfy bed, good shower, and full suite of Sky channels). I really liked the renovated old prison vibe.

Amazing location, building, team and overall experience. Everything was perfect from checking in to check out. Great place to visit that is a bit different and perfect for a special occasion. Thank you.

Had a 3 night stay, room very clean, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice, but the hot water tap for drinks I think is dangerous, and the instructions on how to use it are inadequate. I had to find someone to help. One of the lifts is out of order, and from we were told has been for a while. Other than that, no problems. This is a great hotel, perfect for being close to the center of the city and the train station is an easy short walk too. If we come back to Oxford, we would stay here again.

We were pretty disappointed as we were expecting a bit more of an experience from this stay, and the price that we paid. Having thought we had booked a “Cell” room, it was evident we hadn’t and were told we needed to specifically select that on booking, though this wasn't clear at all on booking. Having paid quite a high price, the room was a glorified premier Inn room. We were on a stay with friends who had booked as cell room, having paid quite a bit more than us, who had some real issues with cleanliness in their room. While this wasnt our experience, there was a lack of amenities. Described in the room we had booked were coffee/tea maker aswell as a kettle, however we did only have a kettle. We paid over £250 just for a pretty standard room, no breakfast included - this was an extra cost, as well as parking also being charged extra as only valet parking was offered. We paid £35 for parking, & although being told we would have unlimited access to the car, this was parked out of sight. When my partner requested access to his car to retrieve something, her was told he would have to wait for someone to get it, and that he wouldnt be able to go with them to get it. They proceeded to ask where abouts to find the item, however my partner felt very uncomfortable with the idea of having to explain where said item was. Although an interesting hotel, we feel the stay really was not worth what we paid. We did express this on checkout, but staff didnt take much notice.

Great staff and they called when room was ready and stored our luggage for us. It was a visit for my daughter's 21st birthday and the location was brilliant as she is at the uni there. Lovely, clean and quirky room and very quiet too. Breakfast was also really nice and again, great staff.
