Fabulous small hotel in a quiet pocket of the very center. Great location.

It was a beautiful and wonderful hotel. The room had a calm and elegant design, and we especially appreciated that the toilet and shower were separate. The staff were very pleasant, and the peaceful, quiet atmosphere truly felt worthy of the Michelin hotel reputation.

The Hotel is in a fabulous location in the historical part of Valencia however despite it being centuries old our room was a grey concrete painted box. Our room was a good size, very dark with an open bathroom! Not sexy at all when you’re travelling with a friend!! when getting ready, one of us had to brush our teeth with our eyes shut as the other one had a shower. There is a fridge in the wardrobe with a couple of soft drinks, one packet of crisps, and one tin of olives. This was meant to be replenished on a daily basis but wasn’t. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room so every time you need a hot drink, you have to call to reception. The staff got so fed up with us calling, they brought us a kettle so we could make our own however didn’t think to bring us milk and teabags. The hotel has not been sympathetically restored and there is no space to sit and relax. The outside space is a small triangle of decking with room for 15 people to sit, and a fish tank which they call a swimming pool. Our room overlooked a derelict building which was being renovated. The restaurant is a Michelin star with a limited menu, the bar is in the foyer. The breakfast was €29 each, and was mediocre at best. In our opinion the hotel does not represent a 5 star hotel, but it had ensured it had loosely ticked the boxes to meet the 5 star criterion. On a positive note the staff were amazing. We left disappointed and wouldn’t return or recommend.

Lovely hotel with fantastic staff and wonderful breakfast. This was our 2nd stay but this time we booked a standard room for just one night. The standard room is extremely dull and “minimalist” in design with gray plain walls and only a few small ceramic tiles on a wall as a design element. The bathroom layout was great but the tub was very slippery with no bathmat provided. At checkout, reception advised us that we could have requested one but that they do not leave them in the room for hygenic reasons. We would definitely stay at this hotel again but not in a standard room.

Our stay at the Claro Hotel was very unique and top notch! Our check in was very informative and they made us feel very informed! Every evening, we were delivered 2 treats and the next day’s weather forecast on a little card! The inroom bar is free and they restock daily! Excellent service and kind staff!

We actually check out of this room after one night. The staff is amazing and friendly, however the rooms are so minimalistic that they feel like a prison cell (it actually depressed me waking up there). Dark, grey with only stiff chairs to sit in. It is just a style I can't appreciate but I can image others might love. Also the bed was really low (below my knees in height) and also wasn't inviting to lounge around in. The staff tried to accommodate with another room but there was really nothing available that was appropriate (stairs in the room without banisters) or didn't cost another 200 euros per night. Also I felt the area was sketchy for two women alone at night. Either way you travel to the hotel you need to go down a poorly lit, quiet street. It didn't feel safe. However this means the hotel is in a really quiet area. Also, I really love to have a coffee/tea station in my room. Here they deliver it to your room at no cost but I am not going to order more then once. While if it were in the room I would have 2 cups of coffee in the morning and a couple of cups of tea in the evening. The rooms were very clean. Again, I feel like I didn't research the hotel enough and let myself be swayed by the high ratings but it was far to austere for my liking.

The staff were exceptional and the location was ideal for walking. Thanks for making our stay wonderful!

It’s not a 5 star hotel for sure. The place is too dark and too small!

This is our "go to" place of lodging whenever we visit Valencia. It is right in the old town, walking distance to pretty much EVERYTHING. Some folks find the interior of the hotel odd but that adds to the charm for us. We have stayed in every type of room they offer and each is unique though we prefer those in the "special" category. The available breakfast is not to be missed and is one of the best we have experienced anywhere in the world. We have stayed here on all of our trips to Valencia (i.e. now numbering 7 visits) which is the highest recommendation we can give.

Fabulous staff, great quiet residential location but with restaurants etc 5-10 minutes walk away. Spotless but simple room, very modern. Nice bar and good breakfast. We love this hotel and will return.

The Caro hotel was beautiful. Great walkable location. Incredible staff. Small extra details made it even more special. Great room with a huge bath. Will recommend this hotel to anyone.

The staff at this hotel are outstanding!! We received a warm welcome and they were available at all times to answer questions. They could not have been more accommodating! There is coffee and tea available, as well as other drinks provided in the room at no additional cost. Breakfast was not free but offered eggs prepared to order as well as an assortment of bread, fresh fruit and other items.

Excellent choice to stay in Valencia’s old town. Very nice boutique hotel with excellent service and conveniently located close to most attractions. Highly recommended
