The location of this hotel is excellent, at first sight it appears fantastic but it is a little tired. The member of staff who greeted us was a little abrupt which took me a little bit by surprise, when I asked about and whether I needed to book she said yes, but there isn’t many slots left. That felt a little odd as our room included breakfast, we did book breakfast, she then asked if we had stayed before, we hadn’t, so she explained about how to get to the spa. Our room was a little tired but clean and large. The shower/water in this hotel is extremely hot so I would say be a bit careful. In the morning we went down to breakfast, it was buffet style and ok, plenty of seating. The staff were lovely and friendly, couldn’t be more helpful. The spa is basic but nice if you want a quick swim, sauna and steam, then perfect. Overall an ok stay for the money we paid for the centre of Chester.

Good location as not far from centre. Room (delux double) quite nice, clean however room would benefit from air con as it was uncomfortably warm (despite being cold outside).

Lovely hotel in good location with easy access to the city centre . Efficient and friendly staff and breakfast was very good.

The staff at the Mill hotel were absolutely amazing.

The staff at reception were friendly and helpful. Check in was quick and easy. We had a 3rd floor room which overlooked the canal. It was very nice, with comfy beds and some original, industrial features. The only negative was the bathroom. It had a bath, which we never use, and a shower over it. The water pressure was poor, the shower kept running cold. The bathroom definitely needed an upgrade, a walk in shower would have really made a difference. The spa area was nice, the pool was a good temperature. We had a drink in the bar area which was pleasant to sit in and the menu looked varied, although we didn’t eat there. The hotel was close to the city centre which was within walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely book again. We did ask on leaving if they had rooms with walk in showers which they did so we would make sure we booked one of those.

Ideally placed close to the City centre. Excellent value for money.

Alongside the canal in Chester, with the gym opposite. Well situated for a walk into the historic centre of the city. Good parking available opposite and excellent dining!

Shops nearby, good access to city. Did not use spa.

Spacious rooms with terrace, right on the canal , breakfast was lovely , we also had steak in the Evening was delicious,very easy access to the town , and if you wanted a taxi you just pressed the button and it was outside in 5 min

Room....window lock was faulty, marks on the table, lamps offered usb connection but didnt work, wifi was terrible.felt like we was in a completely different hotel right at the end of a corridor next to the road. Room was to warm even though there wasnt any radiator on but couldn't open the window due to traffic noise. Staff....breakfast needs improving, coffee was cold, the lady that brought it over spilt the milk, didnt apologised or wipe it up, a coffee machine would be better in my opinion, asked for another coffee and had to wait 10 minutes and had to ask where it was. Toast was made for you but because it was just there it was cold and hard, Never used the amenities only there for two nights. Wouldn't stay again

Nice clean room, quiet hotel, friendly staff. Breakfast was a nice inclusion and they were able to cater for gluten free toast ect with no trouble. Good location and great secure, easy to use parking.
