Had a lovely time away with my friend Barbara for her 88 th birthday celebrations x had the evening meal which was great and a very good wine list x we enjoyed a good breakfast x third time we’ve stayed there there and would highly recommend the hotel x

First impressions in walking into the hotel were superb, modern, bright & clean with really helpful & pleasant staff. The bar & food were also really good, excellent food & service with drinks very reasonably priced. However the room was very dated & not that clean, certainly needs a refresh, & this was a canal side balcony room on the fifth floor with a jacuzzi bath. The balcony itself was dirty, with loose flags & large cobwebs not somewhere that nice to sit out on & this was middle of June. Also really disappointed with breakfast, vastly different quality from the bar food, overall poor with very little hot choices for vegetarians if they also don’t eat eggs. No hash browns or mushrooms, toast pre cooked & sat under a heat lamp to dry out. Although we paid extra for full English breakfast we didn’t bother with it on the second day & went a local pub instead, a lot better choice available & a lot nicer food. Overall I was disappointed with the Mill Spa, as a hotel, but would certainly stop by for lunch & a drink but wouldn’t stay there again, until rooms are updated, refreshed with hopefully air conditioning added.

In a good spot, close to the city centre (about 5-10 mins walk). Friendly reception staff and very convenient parking across the road.

Check in was easy and efficient, lovely clean room overlooking the canal. Staff at breakfast and in the bar were helpful and always polite. Can't wait to book again.
