An old Victorian building with lots to admire from the old décor of it's day and the lovely view of the Bristol Channel sat on the cliff above the water. Room was good and no problem obtaining a fan from reception as the room was hot. TV bar was small but ideal and there was a lounge bar with lovely views from the windows. The lovely decking is on a basement level so many inside steps or an outside path to manoeuvre balancing a drink in hand. Breakfast was good with friendly and helpful staff. Downside is the walk to Clevedon pier and sea front if any disabilities. It took me 16 mins to walk down but a bit longer walking up the hill. Quite steep at the bottom before the road flattens out at the top. No problem if you are fit I'm sure. Generally, a good stay.

The hotel is very dated. Every floor board creaked and I’m glad I had an end room and no one could walk past the room. I fear it would be very noisy. There is no air con in the rooms and in 32 degree heat that makes for an uncomfortable stay. Reception did give me a fan but that was useless.

For an overnight layover on the way down the country, this hotel was adequate. If you're thinking of staying here for more than one night.. think again! The room was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom could have been stocked a bit better. One small bar of soap and one toilet roll. The bar and 'restaurant' had the feel of a cafe. No tablecloths and a single laminated menu card with limited choice. Breakfast was sufficient and varied. The staff however.... Maybe it was our bad luck to be there on a Sunday..? Maybe the weekend 'skeleton' crew had been given a month's notice..? But not one of them managed a smile in any of our encouters until Monday morning when we signed out. The place overall had the feel of a hotel in it's last season and about to be closed. The lift was out of order - things break, we get it. But the very least I would have expected is an offer to help with bags up the stairs. Nope. "Lift's broke, stairs are over there!" If you're on the road and need somewhere clean and tidy to eat and stay the night then this place is fine. If you're on holiday... look elsewhere. We booked for and stayed one night. We won't be booking a BW again.

The staff were very friendly and the location was great! We visited during an extreme heat wave and unfortunately it was uncomfortable sleeping. The staff provided a room fan when we requested, but unfortunately the 2nd floor was an oven. This is no fault of the staff or property, it was just an anomaly of the weather.

The location and style is lovely and we had a very spacious and cool room, recently refurbished. Dinner and breakfast were good. We had a nice stay here. The bar and restaurants look out over the sea. Staff were lovely.

We stayed 2 nights room was great excellent views comfy bed. Only thing I would of liked to of had in the room was a mini fridge other than that could not fault our stay

Reception staff welcoming. The rooms were clean, the views over Môr Hafren (Bristol Channel) fantastc. Breakfast was a relaxed affair with a lovely selection. The dinner was good with care taken on allergies (a special thanks to chef and waiting staff). It is an old house so the floor boards creaked. Only slight off point was that the showers not strong flow, but hey we survived. Would definitely stay again.

Negatives, water pressure in the shower was minimal and the water , luke warm Dining room table mats were not clean at eve meal and at breakfast my chair had crumbs in it Plus's - really lovely staff. Clean room and bathroom. Food was good.

An extremely quick and friendly welcome and check in, especially as we arrived around 10:30pm after a busy day out and about. Room was large and welcoming, nicely decorated and with three large opening windows for us to control air to the room and a required temperature. Breakfast was self serve and there was a good enough choice and it was a great start / set up for the day. Cleaning wise, extra attention needs to be made to this as I awoke to find one of my pillows looked like it had been trodden on / or driven over due to a muddy mark on it, there were items of rubbish from previous guests under chairs - hair band, make up brush - a strange red liquid on tiles in the bathroom and where someone had spilt a hot drink on one of the walls next to our breakfast table, this had not been cleaned off.

A lovely view from the hotel, a shame there isn’t a great deal of space to sit outside to make the most of it. The staff were lovely and very helpful which was a plus. The hotel felt a little run down and there were obvious signs of previous issues that had been patched up, there was also a musty smell in various areas around the hotel. The room itself was spacious and clean but the beds and pillows were quite uncomfortable. The food in the restaurant was lovely. We were a little surprised to see a room service tray had been left in the corridor outside a room, it was there when we checked in at 3pm on Friday and was still there when we left at 9:30am on Saturday- poor show!

Hotel has an enviable elevated position overlooking the Bristol Channel across to Wales. Although there are no recreational facilities we had a truly relaxing short break. The staff were lovely and the food was superb.

It's a beautiful old building and could really do with a total 1m makeover, but it's full of old world charm. Room was really clean and the staff very friendly and helpful.

I booked this hotel as a mid stop to Cornwall. As an alternative to a hotel at a service station, I thought it was delightful. As I watched the sun go down over the sea, the world felt a better place!
