Ouchi-juku Snow Festival
At Minamiaizu Ouchi-juku, where the dormitory building from the Edo period is preserved, a fantasy snow festival is held with snow lanterns illuminating the village. From the evening of the first day, the "Goshinkataika" (receiving fire from the sacred fire) ceremony is held. Men in loincloths with naked upper bodies and white scarves on their heads will take the Goshinka (sacred fire) from the altar and light up the snow lanterns built in the dormitory one by one. Afterwards, the streets were patrolled sequentially, and the Ouchi-juku Snow Festival is brought to its climax.
