About Hoa Lo Prison Museum

Discover the difficulties experienced during the French colonisation and the Vietnam War at the Hoa Lo Prison Museum, also known as Maison Centrale. A symbol of the nation's determination and resilience, it houses original artefacts across its 2,000-square-metre space. Walk through the prison cells and explore the exhibits focusing on the Vietnamese struggle for independence. Also see life-size models of shackled prisoners and a gigantic guillotine that was used for death penalty.
