Burton Stone Inn

Arrived on the car park and was greeted by the owner. We were taken to our room which was a family room and very spacious. The bathroom and bedroom were exceptionally clean. The hotel was within walking distance to the centre of York so no need to use the car again until we left .. bonus!!

The hotel was a short walk from the beautiful downtown of York. Breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly.

Me and my 15 year old son had a fantastic experience at The Burton Stone Inn. Aggie was very communicative and helpful and friendly. Aggie made our experience in York a very enjoyable one. We stayed in room 9 which was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Great, clean place to stay and the breakfast was so tasty and fresh. Situated in walking distance from the city centre. What a wonderful little place. Myself and my daughter stayed here for 2 nights. There is nothing not to like about this place. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful, the room (No.6) was really nice, with a wonderful shower. We had breakfast, and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place, as it is close to York also. Would definitely love to return one day.

A nice warm welcome from the owners. Great family room with bunk beds for the kids. Nice and clean too. Great location for heading into York. Just around 10 minutes walk from the minster etc.

Lovely hotel

Whilst the hotel was perfectly placed, clean and welcoming, I had specifically booked the hotel as it had a bar and pool table. Having a teenager with us, it was hoped we could use this at night. To find that the hotel bar closed at 8pm and there was no pool table was disappointing, had this been known we would have booked elsewhere. The room was a great size, dry clean with tea and coffee facilities, small fridge and TV. Lots of storage space. Breakfast was made to order and was lovely. The owners were very friendly and helpful. It’s a good 10 min walk into the city centre.

We stayed in room 3 for 2 nights. We adore York, such a fascinating and historic City, but this was the first time we had visited at Christmas time. The hosts are wonderful people very helpful, accommodating and eager to to please. The room was large with a very nicely presented bathroom. Lovely hot shower and plenty of hot water during our stay. Only negatives and they were minor. The bed was particularly comfortable. A lot of roll together. The room was also roasting hot and when we opened the window, we were unable to lock it open, so it banged in the night, and we were forced to close it. Breakfast is well worth the £13 price, beautifully cooked and presented. The bar is also very fairly priced, we will definitely be returning.

Really lovely room, very reasonable price, absolutely fantastic staff, and an all in all wonderful experience. Genuinely can’t thank the staff enough for being so accommodating and friendly, always helpful and willing to do anything they can to help :) Thank you from both of us, we look forward to coming back in the future:)

Mikel the owner helped us out of a difficult situation when our train was cancelled and we had to find somewhere to stay at 10pm at night. He bent over backwards to help us, we had a lovely family room which was very clean and comfortable I would highly recommend this hotel

Good size room.

Funny little place. Rooms upstairs in a pub but dont let that put you off as pub is only open 3-8pm. Kitchen wasnt doing breakfast which would have been handy to know before i turned up. Very convenient for the city, with free off street parking which is a rarity in york. Room was clean and comfy. Wpuld stay again for the price.

Value for money, close to city center.. but way too noisy from outside the room, could hear the room next to me very clearly. The room was too cold during the night even the heater was ON and on max but it seems like it’s not working. The bathroom was clean and modern. I had a box of takeout to eat late at the same day, they refused to take it with me to the room claiming it’s a policy to prevent stains and smell in the room. Had to store my food in their fridge and go down to eat before 8pm because the bartender will not be there after this time!! Now what about people who will enter their rooms after 8:00pm with food with them and no one can see them? I think the whole situation was just nonsense. My experience was not the best with this B&B.

The location was ideal. The host is extremely friendly and accommodating. Rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Overall our stay in York was even sweeter because of Burton Stone Inn!

A great boutique hotel .lovely rooms, , friendly owners.. it’s a short walk from the city centre.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Burton Stone! Inn was very walkable from both the York station and the town centre (10 minutes respectively in each direction). While the check in process was a little confusing Michael, the inn keeper, was super helpful and even gave us some recommendations on food and things to do in the area! Not only would we stay at the Burton Stone again should we return to York, we would also recommend this accommodation to any who are also visiting!

No access to the property when we arrived

Lovely hotel with a great room which fitted my wife and three kids. Our hosts were fantastic and couldn’t be any more helpful. Great location which was a lovely 10 minute work to the city. Free parking just behind the hotel was great and was allowed to leave the car there after we checked out which was a lovely gesture as would have saved us a lot in parking elsewhere where. Will definitely be coming back here time and time again when we revisit York.
