Hotel Okura Niigata

Proper old-school 80's elegance and luxury. The lobby has chandeliers and a Bell Captain's desk, and a whisky bar upstairs. The room had a writing desk with printed stationery, a built-in international plug socket and cabled internet, a nightstand with a built-in radio and a pen and notepad by the phone, and a bathroom with a phone and a bottle opener attached to the wall. Even the cleaning staff wore the maid outfits with the cute little bonnets. Live the glory days at Okura Niigata.

WiFi is very very poor.

The location was good and the room was clean and good enough for one person. The WiFi connection was very weak, though, and I went between a weak signal to no signal my entire stay. Other than that, it was a good place to stay.

Older property but clean and comfortable with big rooms In a lovely area next to river which was a nice walk , walking distance to shopping area and restaurants

Hotel needs a significant refresh. Rooms were old, furniture and carpet worn. Staff were great, but accommodation were not 4 star.

This was surely the best hotel in town when it opened. Showing signs of wear and tear (but so am I!), but still comfortable like an old sofa. The double room was spacious (by any standard, not just Japan), with room for a desk and chairs. Breakfast buffet was very good. Location overlooking the river, could walk to fish market for excellent sushi.

Welcoming staff. Convenient location. Room with a big window with a nice view of the river. Comfortable bed and bedding. Clean.

My husband and I and our 2 friends stayed at Hotel Okura Niigata In April 2025 - 2 rooms facing the river. Rooms were spacious, clean, bright with comfortable beds and linens. The hotel & restaurant service is beyond outstanding - despite the restaurant being closed (that served Cherries Jubilee ), the hosts graciously opened the restaurant for us and their chef prepared a spectacular Cherries Jubilee dessert for the 4 of us ! The Breakfast buffet was outstanding. A wonderful assortment of hot dishes including eggs, omelets, Japanese offerings, Cappucino's , salmon, fresh fruits, croissants and salads. Taxi service was readily available. The hotel is in an excellent location downtown with easy access to see sights and restaurants. Would definitely stay again when we return to Japan

Top notch customer service, clean and excellent breakfast buffet.

朝食が込み合っていて、待つのは仕方ないし良いのですが、食べ始めて３０分たたない内にあと10分で片付けますは悲しかったです。 1人3000円という値段に対し、少し残念と感じました。 部屋に関しては、他の部屋の水道の音が少し気になりました。 全般的には良かったので機会があればまた利用します。

ホテル都合でエコノミーから広いシングルルームへ変更となりました。館内室内共に上質感があり、スタッフの方々の対応も丁寧で、1泊でしたがとても快適に過ごすことができました。

From check in to check out staff was on point. Always a staff to take your luggage out of taxi and take it to your room, calling a taxi for you even directing you to the breakfast buffet. All staff in hotel was amazing.

建物そのものは年月を経ていますが、改修、清掃、顧客サービスはオークラ品質で秀逸です。富寿し　膳　さんはコスパも良く、美味しいです。リピしていますｗ。
