This hotel is definitely showing its age in some areas. For the price, we wished things would’ve been in better condition. The flooring in the hallway leading to our room is in need of repair and the ice machine on the second floor wasn’t working. We were on the bottom floor and could hear people walking in the room above us. These are all minor inconveniences for us and some things are easier addressed than others.
We did appreciate the kind staff and easy check in process. The fireplace was great for relaxing after long days of sight seeing. The complimentary breakfast serves its purpose.
Overall it was a nice stay. I think we would consider other options for a future visit. There are some more modern hotels that would be comparable cost wise.

The room lay out was very cozy, we came with our toddler and he was able to spread out and play. The property was unique and pretty and close to all the restaurants and the wharf. We were able to walk everywhere with our two year old. There was plenty of parking and they even offered free breakfast in the morning. I would like to stay here again when we come back to Monterey.

Seems a bit run down. The parking is absolutely terrible. When you pay 22 dolllars to park and a lot of the spaces are difficult to park in due to large beams or just really narrow spaces. If you leave and lose your spot for the night it is awful. It does not seem like there are enough spaces. The hotel could be a bit cleaner. Was grossed out because I found a bunch of hair on my bath towel before I going to try and use it. Would never stay here again.

Rooms are very big but outdated. Not a big deal but enough cobwebs on ceiling to be noticeable. Breakfast option limited. Hotel okay for a 1 night stay.

Outdated and dingy. Room smelled very musty we had to leave the deck door open for a long time to air it out during both days. You had to keep messing with the TV connections to get it to work. It looks like they throw paint on top of paint. Could feel springs in sofa couch. Stayed on the 2nd floor and could hear walking. I wouldn’t stay here again. I’m not sure how others rated this 8/10, 9/10, or 10/10. I was really disappointed considering the price I paid.

Unfortunately, the cleanliness of this property has gone downhill quite a bit. I have stayed here numerous times and LOVE the location, the set-up of the rooms & proximity to the beach & walking path, but the rooms are not cleaned or maintained very well. The shower specifically was full of mold & mildew, and had small little worms crawling out of the cracks when the water was turned on. If we were staying longer I would have requested a room change, but it was late & we were already unpacked. In addition the mini-fridge was not very cold, & the knob was broken, so couldn’t turn it down & spider webs on the patio area. Otherwise, staff is very kind & helpful. I will stay here again, but def going to inspect room carefully before settling in. When booking thru Expedia, it seems most places give you the crappy rooms :(

We particularly liked the property and the layout of the room. The grounds are very pretty, the location is excellent, the parking is convenient and the room is wonderful for a family stay.
