K - Town Hotel

The motel has recently been renovated. The room was neat but the room door kept jamming. The towels and face washer had dirty stains on them. The sheets were a 'dirty white' colour and we were unsure as to whether they had been changed. The fridge in the room was very noisy. The water in the swimming pool was murky and appeared to not have a filter and had no chlorine smell at all. We hopped out very quickly. The owner was friendly and you can tell that they are wanting to do a good job. However, it is definitely very average and when you're having to sleep in a motel with spikes on the fences and an electric gate that is closed at night to keep the locals out, it's a little unsettling. If you're looking for a cheap and poor to average motel this is fine, but do not expect any more.

Check in and check out was very easy and the two staff we had contact with were very pleasant and helpful. We have no hesitation in referring your hotel to any future guests.

The staff very friendly and helpful. The motel is being renovated and it was simple but clean and tidy with a safe carpark with a locked gate at night.

Terrible place. Seemed full of permanent residents and on early departure couldn't get front sliding gate to open.

Whilst this property is renovated backpackers - the price of $249 a nite is absolutely not warranted. Staff, as mentioned in most other feedback, are very accommodating, however there are a few things that dont work well for solo female travellers. Curtains were quite small and i was unable to completely close them and as windows are low enough anyone walking past can look in, so all rather disconcerting. As also mentioned previously, property has safety gate that is locked @ 7:00 pm .. however if you are returning after that time you actually have to get out of your car to enter gate code .. again as a solo female - very uncomfortable especially with current level of crime in Katherine. On the plus side .. there is a full size fridge if that's helpful for you .. Overall hopelessly overpriced - perhaps would stay again if price was half

K-Town Hotel is just what you need after a long drive in the outback. Hassan and his wife are doing a terrific job with this business in a difficult and remote location. The room was perfectly comfortable, clean and well appointed. The king bed was very comfy and sheets clean and soft. Great shower, full size fridge, huge smart tv and a very inviting pool which we didn’t use. Easy and secure parking with automatic locking gate after 7:30pm. Highly recommended

Was clean and the aircon worked really well. Contrary to most other properties, the tv was well connected and allowed for viewing of streaming services. The area felt a bit disconnected but it was very quiet and we had a good night sleep.

I don’t recommend. Pubes throughout, shower needed cleaning as floor had some sort of substance on the shower floor making it slippery, no blanket on second bed, toilet not cleaned and when telling the owner all he wanted was to not have a bad review and that rooms get checked randomly. I don’t recommend.

I will never deal with this motel or Wotif again. Both blames each other for a cancellation that was not applied and I had to cover full cost without staying there. I tried to communicate with both several times with no compassion for my situation.

Friendly Staff, rooms sparkling clean, off street parking and a lovely pool. Close to town centre, and conveniently located next door to a local corner store with takeaway food.

Management provided me a room that upon entry seemed very clean, modern, and quite well laid out. However the main downside which is major is that they asked me to stay in a room without a door lock, and management on site further advised that it was acceptable for me to do so. The on site manager gave me a door lock and expected me to change the lock after handing me a screwdriver. The lock did not work and further they knew about this for the day and don't bother checking the door lock. Unacceptable and unprofessional. The owner called me and refunded me but it was a pain and time consuming for me to find alternative accommodation.

Staff very friendly and helpful, room was basic but clean and comfortable. The outside appearance does not reflect how good a place it is to stay if you are just looking for a clean and safe place to stay.

Entrance to hotel on Giles St, not Third St. The property has been recently renovated, so the room was nicely decorated and furnished. Some of the details were not perfect (like the caulking in the bathroom), but overall nicely done - clean, comfortable and functional. Could use a few more large pillows. Staff were a bit odd - had 2 different staff call me the day before to confirm my booking, and when I checked in there was some confusion regarding payment (I had selected pay on arrival, but when we got there our credit card had already been charged that morning). They supplied toiletries - somehow we ended up with 3 shampoos (no shower gel/soap or conditioner). When my husband went to get soap, the staff member rolled his eyes like it was all too hard, and ended up giving us body lotion, not soap. So we used the liquid hand soap on the sink to shower with. The pool looked murky, so we did not use it. Not sure about the area around the hotel, but all of Katherine has a bit of a strange (unsafe?) vibe. Great location for access to Nitmiluk / Katherine Gorge as you just follow Giles Road. Overall a good stay (a bit weird), but I would probably stay in the caravan park next time.

Thhe decor was fine. The ripped quilt cover and very old towels need replacing. The queen bed needs replacing as well. Really liked the larger fridge and bathroom.

Value for money was nonexistent. The room was dirty. I will not be staying there again.
