This is my uncomfortable experience of a week in The Exceptional Room. From my experience, I don't think they vacuum the carpets in the rooms. The dust that had fallen was still there. A very pungent, sewage-like smell will greet you in the bathroom. When I first entered the bathroom, I noticed other people's long hair here and there. After each shower, the shower stall leaks, leaving the floor soaking wet. I slipped once, but you could slip twice or three times, so be careful. The most absurd thing was that there was absolutely no place to put shampoo and soap in the shower booth. I went down to the front desk to complain, and a staff member came up, looked at it, told me to wait, and then he made one for himself using a wooden board and hangers. OMG. A few days later, my wife was in her pajamas when a technician came into her room without permission to fix it. She was so surprised that she sent him out of the room. One day, I left my card key on the wall, went out for a moment, and when I returned, it was gone. Only the housekeeper could do that, so I went to ask her, and found the card key in her pocket. Don't expect amenities to always be plentiful. Some days, they don't provide any at all, while others only provide shampoo and shower gel. There was a soap bar on the first day. One more thing. The bathtub looks really nice. However, for some reason, the water is contaminated with a lot of dirt or iron. Because of the character limit, this is all I can write.

Nice property with the history of being once a monastery! But the place lacks a “soul” being rather sterile! No cozy lobby etc!… maybe because there were not many guests.. A disappointment was a female member of the reception (lady with blond hair) ! She was incapable of handling questions in a polite manner! Not a guest friendly attitude! Being in the tourist business myself for more than 40 years, I can recognise professional hospitality very well! As to our room : it was a suite yes, but bathroom disappointment ! Small and with old washbasin ! I was given a different impression by the pictures when I booked!! The rooms furniture maybe a question of taste! Overall impression was Ok but I would not book it a 2nd time!

Excellent and convenient place to stay. Late night fire alarm meant we found the excellent bar.

Historic building and room, centrally located and quiet

Hotel ligt 3 minuten lopen van het centrum. Prima dus.

Der var kun et karbad og ingen brusebad. Vandets temperatur steg med jævne mellemrum til brændende varm mens man var i gang med at tage bad og det brændte og gjorde ondt. Fordi det ikke var en bruser og man sad i et kar havde man ikke engang mulighed for at flytte sig hurtigt. Det var noget værre vandplakeri på gulvet når man skal holde bruseren med den ene hånd. Helt latterligt at skulle vaske sig på den måde. Airconditionen virkede ikke. Upersonlig betjening og personale der var uerfarne.

Management needs to be clear whether or not a proper shower is available in room.

The entire staff was very nice and helpful. I could not have asked for a better first experience in Belgium.

Very good location in the center of lovely Leuven. The hotel room did not have a shower and the water burnt us severely several times. The air condition didn't work and the staff didn't really care. After 3 complaints the hotel manager came to the room and tried to convince me that it was a "very silent" aircon. He didn't offer an explanation as to why it also was a very hot aircondition... I was also surprised there was no gym. All in all not a hotel I would recommend at all.

Great location, friendly staff, spotless and comfortable rooms. I loved sitting out in the garden in the evening for a beer and the breakfast was tasty!

Chambre spacieuse, très bon petit déjeuner et varié. Excellent accueil et en Français.

Very nice property, staff, and location. The bar and breakfast are a added benefit.
