Ensana Buxton Crescent

First of all im going to put it out there this Hotel is by no means what so ever a 5 star hotel, i have no idea how it has been awarded that. Lets just bare in mind the Savoy is 5 star. Thats not to say its not a nice hotel its just not 5 star. Such a shame for me the layout of the pool and spa as im semi disabled but the outdoor pool is really really nice. I would say we enjoyed our stay and it is a nice experience, but expectations are set high with a 5 star ranking. The building which i understand is listed so changes cant be made is somewhat disappointing i mean you literally walk in through an unmarked door that resembles a back door in a farm building theres no butlers on that door greeting you. For me its too many corridors and rooms i really want a large open space or lobby etc i know thats because as mentioned its listed etc its just a shame. Breakfast ohhhhhh boi oh boi i mean come on ive stayed in the best 5 star hotels the world has to offer and the pastry, toast meat help yourself section was the worst ive ever seen. The breakfast you order from the al a carte breakfast menu was good thank goodness. With everything said its a good 4 star experiance with some nice bits the pool etc a 4 star basic room thats ok.

Not the best experience. This is the 5th time we’ve stayed here but we have several issues in check-in: we were not happy with the room we were allocated as it was an accessible room on the ground floor, reception did rectify this but upon arrival at the new room there were 2 single beds, not a double that we’d booked. Again, this was rectified but it took up time into our short stay away. We extended check out on our last day by 1 hour, paying an extra £30 for the privilege, only to be disturbed by housekeeping when there was a ‘do not disturb’ sign on the door!

Room was nice with comfortable bed. The bathroom was tired and the shower could benefit from a descale. The room we were in was noisy from the outdoor pool. Breakfast average

Excellent pools. Very comfortable rooms. Valet parking an expensive necessity.

Excellent staff and service. The room was clean and the spa was excellent. Service was par excellence across the hotel. Dinner in the restaurant was great too but there are other good restaurants in the vicinity. As for parking, the hotel provides a map of areas where you can park for free in the vicinity.

We had a lovely stay at Ensana, Buxton Crescent. The room exceeded expectations & the Spa & swimming pool was perfect. The only criticism during our stay was the evening meal at the restaurant. We didn’t feel the food & service given matched the quality you would expect from a 5 star hotel. There are plenty of choices within walking distance of the hotel which we preferred.

Spa is excellent although it was super busy. The check-in wasn’t great. There was a queue of people almost out the door and the second check-in member of staff arrived at her desk 10 mins after check-in began. She then faffed about for a few minutes with her file and computer as the queue grew. It’s not a great first impression.

The spa is awesome, including 3 different pools/sauna's and steam rooms. The ambience is so relaxing ... exactly what we wanted BUT it comes at an high price. The attic rooms are the best value but beware, the bed is only a small double.

Perfect location for concert at the Opera House. Facilities excellent and staff attentive

This is an amazing hotel with wonderful staff. The rooms are well designed & comfortable and the spa is incredible!

A repeat visit for us - excellent hot spring pools, good aircon, decent breakfast (although consistently running out of pastries), nice location

Perfect central location in Buxton. Very accommodating for our dog. Spacious and comfortable room and bathroom. Excellent service at reception. The only negative experience was at breakfast which was understaffed at busy times so slower than we would have liked and some buffet items weren't quickly replenished.

Friendly staff, good service and excellent facilities. Spa is very nice with lots of facilities. Room was large and very nicely decorated. Breakfast was also excellent. Highly recommended.

Fabulous stay. Great food and one of the best spas we’ve been to. Only negative was that the bathroom shower smelt of bad drain smell and there some sort of heating/boiler noise from outside

Best spa I’ve been to. Hot pools, 3 saunas. 2 steam rooms. Hotel rooms are nice but not worth the big cost! Great location in Buxton. Not a fully breakfast buffet. Only allowed 1 main dish! £10 for another! Shame they are so strict on check in and check out (15.00 a 11.00). Should be a flexible given the huge room cost!

We booked three nights here expecting it to be a fabulous five star hotel however this is a four star at best. The communal areas and the spa are lovely however the rooms are certainly not those of a five star hotel. Considering the rooms are a reasonable size there is very little storage space for clothes, no mirror except in the bathroom and no toiletries etc. except in shower. Beware if you’re spending extra to have a five star experience.

Good points my wife rated the spar the best shes ever been to with facilities amazing . The two breakfasts we had was allso excellent. The blip was i booked a two night stay as a surprise for our wedding anniversary and my wife finishing her twelfth cancer treatment, we were booked in for monday the 1st till wensday 3rd September, on the Monday we wanted to eat in the restaurant for our Anniversary after ordering our meals the fire Alarm went of so was told to leave then told it was a false Alarm the lovely lady serving us told us there would be a further 20 minutes delay when eventually the meals came out my wifes wasnt edible and she sent it back i did eat mine even tho it wasnt the best after waiting 45 minutes my wife left upset and went back to the room .we didnt have to pay for my meal and recived 2 free drinks but it was a bit of a disaster to be honest but the reat of the stay was excellent.

Went for our wedding anniversary absolutely brilliant staff amazing and breakfast faultless the only negative I would say is you could here other guests waking around on the apartment above us which seemed quite loud
