the staff are very friendly and helpful to an extent. it is unfortunate that nowhere in any reviews as of recent does it mention that this hotel is facing multiple restaurants and bars that stay open playing loud music till 2am. If that is what you’re looking to do while in Sheffield then this will be a perfect match for you, unfortunately it is not an ideal hotel for rest. I also found our room to be outdated and not the cleanest, the tub had hair left in it from the guests prior and a ring of grim on the outer edge. Also our tv didn’t work our whole stay, front desk staff did try and fix it but were not able to. I feel the reviews can be a little misleading, still a nice hotel but not what it looks like from online.

Hotel staff were great and the room was large and clean. However, given it was split level, when i arrived the upstairs level (where the bed is) was extremely warm. There was only a tiny vent in the upper level and windows aren't able to open, meaning it did not cool down all evening. I eventually slept on the sofa in the lower level which was nice and cool!

Warm and professional welcome, with discounts offered for local businesses. Comfortable, in the central area, close to the theatres, restaurants and lots of bars. The building is exquisite, bathroom, was clean but a little dated. A very restful sleep and would highly recommend.

The hotel is very run down and needs a massive revamp.
It was so noisy outside I did not sleep at all.
The breakfast room was like a Hostel very bleak with no atmosphere
The food was only just warm and the tables were left uncleared by the staff that were not busy which made the room look even worse
I have always wanted to stay here but was really let down by the stay
The outside of the building is lovely and set in a nice area
Also the parking is a 10 minute walk away.
Although now we are both shattered with shopping to do !

An interesting hotel in an excellent central location.
Staff are very good and helpful but the breakfast room was so overwhelmed with people that there a half hour wait.
Parking is an issue. It is a long walk to the recommended car park and a one way street was closed at the exit to the car park when we left - needing us to go the wrong way along the one way street. No information was provided by the car park company about this - the hotel was unaware of the issues.

We had a great night in Sheffield, the Leopold hotel is right in the centre. Perfect for our visit to the Christmas market, reception and bar staff friendly and pleasant..
Accommodation clean, and comfortable would definitely stay again sometime in the future..

The location was great and the staff tried hard, however, everything else was only just okay. The door lock system does not work well with you having to replace the keys frequently. Also, all the public areas are too small. The worst was getting into the breakfast room there were queues and some days impossible to get in.

This is a quirky hotel, some of the rooms (described as suites) have the bed upstairs but you must come downstairs to use the loo. Also every bedroom (we had several friends there) was set at 27 deg C! Breakfast was excellent. Car park is about a 500m walk but very secure.

Hotel looks nice on the surface, but lacks any type of soundproofing from other rooms for the street... Lot of little things aren't quite right, grouting in the bathroom etc.... feels slightly neglected or poor quality refurb... Although the bed was comfortable and room clean enough... And it's a good location. Breakfast was nice. But overall I probably wouldn't stay again
