Beautiful hotel and great service. We stayed for one night whilst visiting the Bath Christmas Market which was in walking distance. We ate in the restaurant and had the Christmas menu. The starters were good but the main course was a little basic, the desert was amazing and we ate everything and left full. Its not cheap, but it was a nice treat to ourselves. The Spa facilities are good, although one of the saunas was out of order but they do have 2. We had a really nice suite in the Imperial Apartments. A really nice break and would recommend to everyone

We stayed over 2 nights. The hotel doesn’t look like 5 stars at all. The bathroom was dirty. Bath blocked with full of hair, Room very old, not nice smell. Waiting for our older one hour. I don’t recommend.

As you enter the hotel you get a feeling of grandeur, in all the hotel is very well kept up thou may be a bit cold in places due to the lack of heating. The spa is looking a bit run down from are previous visit. We did not eat in the evening at the restaurant as walked in to bath ,but had breakfast which for £26 is probably the worst breakfast i have had for the money not much choice at the continental and the cooked consisted of one very small mushroom ,bacon, that you could snap small sausage undescribed ,a egg and what I can say is almost a thimball of baked beans i will not be returning to this hotel

It was an overnight stay as we were traveling home. So did not take advantage of gym, pool and restaurant. So cannot give a total review. However, we found the room was adequate but the bathroom could do with an upgrade.

Terrible experience. The sheets and towels were not very clean. The breakfast was disappointing, and the service was equally poor. I tried to cancel the breakfast, but they wouldn’t allow it. The two chairs in the room were filthy, looking as though they had been soiled. The sauna was out of order, and the alternative was overcrowded, with nine people crammed together, leaving no space to breathe.

BEWARE FAMILES WITH KIDS!
First and foremost this place needs an upgrade in every inch of the facilities.
Once you enter the building you can smell nice refreshing scent but that’s all.
We booked 2 rooms for our stay but had to cut it short due to non profession
ROOMS;
Rooms have portable oil heaters, sink is cracked and faucets are broken. Windows are wooden and old, needs to be changed, cold breezes through. There is mold which is extremely dangerous for health yet they argue about the kids going into heated pool.
Restaurant:
Chairs in the restaurant are almost no sponge left. Breakfast was very poor and no taste.
Pool and Spa Area;
If your children are 16 and under they cannot go to a heated pool! It’s company policy, they are claiming it’s not healthy for them and they might get into very very serious trouble! How so? We’ve been going to winter hotels for years and my kids were able to go into heated pools all the time. This hotel is the only one claiming it’s dangerous for kids under 16. Just 40 minutes away from this hotel there is a beautiful hotel called De Cere Tortworth Court a few ago my kids were able to go into the heated pool and jakuzi there.
Kids pool hours are 3 pm to 6 pm and 8 am to 11
Salt room smells like piss, the spa area is dirty and unclean.
So to sum it up, the management at the Bath Spa Hotel tries to cover up their lack of management with unreasonable things.
I won’t come back here and not recommending to anyone. Total disappointment.

Bathroom shabby, sink had big splintered crack,hole in enamel which had clearly been there a long time. Wooden panels in bathroom & door plinth to bathroom very shabby. Bedroom itself was great. Bathroom let it down. Lovely Elemis products in bathroom, bed comfy.
Breakfast was ok. Coffee was weak (basically hot coloured water) & waited 10 mins for it. Hot cooked breakfast took 20 mins to arrive. Croissant was stale (it made a sound on the plate when tapping it!). The bread my poached eggs were served on tasted stale.
Staff were excellent, very professional, hotel was beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations. Lovely hot outdoor pool, steam sauna wasn’t working, dry sauna was great, ice room was great, indoor pool was quite cold.

We've stayed a few times at this hotel. On this occasion there was a different vibe. The rooms were clean and tidy. Very comfortable apart from the heating system. The room was cold and the thermostat was uncontrollable. The receptionist explained that the rooms are set with a communal heating system.(around 30 rooms). The bar staff (1 person) on the evening just didnt want to engage. AS if they were reading from a script and just did not want to be there. The wine list was confusing. You can ask for a glass only on some wines that suggest you can only buy a bottle. The Merlot is a good example. When in the restaurant, the waitress suggested get your own drink from the bar as it would be quicker. The restaurant was clearly understaffed. On order we were not informed of dishes that were not available.After a long wait again to order. In all fairness the meal i had was excellent. . Having spoken with the manager on duty the next morning, she was very understanding and apologised on behalf of the management staff. I did explain we were only for the one night, but best to report the cold room. It wouldn't be fair for the next person to check in the same room. So hopefully it was corrected.

We had an excellent time during our stay at this hotel, which has become a yearly tradition for us. This was our third time here, and we keep coming back because it consistently delivers a fantastic experience.
The hotel is clean, safe, and beautifully decorated, especially during Christmas—it really adds to the festive atmosphere. One of our favorite features is the heated outdoor swimming pool. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a warm swim on a chilly night. The ambiance is relaxing and inviting. However, we would love it if the pool’s opening hours could be extended until 10 pm instead of closing at 9 pm.
While most aspects of our stay were superb, the breakfast experience fell a little short. The staff seemed rushed, and the options were not clearly communicated. Although we paid for breakfast, we were surprised to find additional charges for certain items like a cappuccino. While this was resolved at checkout without any issue, it would be great if the complimentary options were explained more clearly and offered proactively.
Overall, though, everything else was fantastic, as it has been every year. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Room OK. But coffee machine leaked overnight onto coat which is soaked luckily don't need to weae today. Lucky no other clothes on chair which is also soaked. Water container leaked from machine.
