Ship Leopard Hotel – No Children

The hotel was fine. However, it really isn’t boutique, there was nothing that really met the definition of a boutique hotel. It was simply an okay hotel in a great area.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful when I had any questions. The hotel itself is in a great location for Gunwharf Quays and the Historic Dockyard.

This hotel had lots of good features: - Easy parking ('though locked at night so have to request access); - Great breakfast - I had a very comfortable bedroom with harbour views. - Excellent location: right opposite a main transport hub and close to tourist attractions - Helpful staff The only areas for improvement - in my opinion - are: - The shower - which was very good - did not have a soap/shampoo holder. This is not unusual but I have to ask why? - The lack of a 'Do Not Disturb' sign for the bedroom door However, my main issue - hence the 4-star rating - is that there is no separate bar area. The hotel website does state that it has a "fully licensed bar" but, unfortunately, it is located in the main reception area so is not at all relaxing (as a solo traveller I felt somewhat 'exposed' so had to take my drink to my room).

Large bedroom, with a superb bathroom, and a great view of HMS Warrior. An ideal spot to use as a base when visiting the Historic Dockyard over several days.

We love coming and staying here. Rooms are lovely, staff very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is always lovely too!

Excellent location and with it's own car park the Ship Leopard was comfortable, clean and backed up by helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast is also to be recommended. Well worth the visit.

Clean rooms great staff fantastic location

This is a lovely old building is close to everything on the sea front - 5 minutes walk to the Historic Dockyard (it has close views of the Spinnaker, the harbour, and HMS Warrior). The bus and train stations are across the road, and the shopping centre is no more than 10 minutes away. Add the free car park, friendly staff, cosy atmosphere and comfortable rooms, plus the big choice of places to eat within half a mile, and you have the ideal hotel to stay in when visiting the Portsmouth area.

Where to start? Very welcoming and friendly greeting/check-in. The room was beautifully clean, as was the bathroom. It was cold outside but warm inside. When I went down to breakfast, another warm and friendly greeting, and the breakfast was very good. It was all so good my family (who joined me the day after I arrived) and I have decided we will go back again in the spring. Thank you all for a great visit.

The reception staff were very helpful, booking taxis and providing a container for flowers etc. Breakfasts were good with quick, friendly service.

Beyond impressed with everything about this hotel. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was warm, comfortable, stylish and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was great, cooked to order with a good selection, the waitress was very polite. Parking was so easy and the location was great, so easy to get to gunwharf quays and the harbour literally a few minutes walk away. Overall great customer service which went above and beyond, offering a value you don’t get with larger chain hotels. Excellent value for money. We will book the same hotel again next time and I definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Great location for visiting Dockyards, super friendly staff, comfortable room. Great shopping within walking distance and lovely view of the harbour.
