The Old Station Inn

Clean, spacey, and warm room in very good condition. Also the toilet/bathroom was clean and in very good condition. There was a Pub (The Old Station Inn) where was the reception. The lady in the Pub was very kind and helpful. In general the whole place was very good. Recommended

Had a nice stay and would stay again every one friends only down side at night it gets very cold in the room and to cold to shower in the morning if like me you have an early star and there is no door stop around the door on room 1 so when the is shut you can still out as well as see in not that any one would want to look at my naked body but it also lets in a lot of light from the hall if you like it dark when you sleep

Was convenient for visiting family. Very basic room but comfortable. Stayed 1 night - wouldn't stay longer than 1 night.

Excellent communication for our 2night stay, room very comfortable, food was brilliant… looking forward to staying next year., have no need to look elsewhere…

It was one of the only places I walked into the room and walked straight out - I've stayed in some places in my time but this one I wasn't willing to stomach. If it wasn't a work trip, and I was funding my own travel in a pinch, on a cheap trip, a desperate, in the kind of broken down in middle of nowhere sort of way then I would be grateful for the dry shelter I guess. Although a kip in the van would have been more spacious and less seedy.

Unique hotel and restaurant with an old train carriage as the restaurant Staff and locals were lovely we chatted all night with them Will definitely be going back there

Having stayed here numerous times while visiting famoly close by, the owners are friendly and services available are good

Easy place to find and excellent parking area, Pub was very themed as yuo would expect with the name and associated furnishings all creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. The owners son was running the pub and provided the best level of service I've encountered for a considerable time. the food was probably the highlight with a good diverse choice and without doubt the best value I've ever had. Superb choice of places to stay, although the rooms could do with an update.

Overall quite expensive for a pub meal/drinks. The carriage is beautiful, the bar too cluttered.

The Old Station is a wonderfully quirky pub, with a dining room which is an old train carriage. The rooms are themed - we had the New York room - and with fun decorative touches like the cat and mouse stickers on the wall. The only thing that stops the Old Station from getting the full 5 stars in every question is the low pressure in the shower. It was OK for a basic wash, but I’d not want to wash my hair in it.

Stayed here for a few nights with my mom. Was an hour from bath on the bus, about 25 minutes with uber, but there was a bus stop right by the inn, so that was convenient. Everything was clean, but could use some updates like AC and better mattresses and pillows. Food at the inn was fantastic and it was a cool experience dining in the train car

The staff seemed friendly and waited for me as I was later than anticipated. The room was varied. The bed was uncomfortable, the mattress was old with a very inadequate mattress topper on it. The carpet didn't quite fit so was a different carpet under the desk. The room was very hot and weirdly despite being about 23 degrees outside the heating was on. The shower rail and the light fitting in the bathroom had rust spots on them. The oil-filled radiator had thick dust on it. My biggest issue was the safety. The outer door had a strange push button latch as well as a handle - I struggled to open it and the owner came over and helped me in. From the inside of my room, there was no handle just the Yale latch. The door was very tight in the frame and I struggled to open the door from the inside. I was on the verge of phoning for help the first time I tried to leave. The 2nd morning I got a friend to push the door from the outside and left it ajar. If there was a fire I doubt I would have got out.

The owners of the property were lovely, they were very welcoming. The dining option was great; we dined in an old railway carriage, and the food was tasty and plentiful. However, the room was in a poor state, on our way in there was a strong smell of urine. Once inside the room, the smell changed to damp, the window was wide open when we arrived but this had no effect on the smell. The bathroom was dirty, thick dust on the radiator, mould on the electric shower control box, mould on the showerhead, mould on the sealant around the bath, and dead flies in the overhead light. There had been a water leak in the bathroom as the wooden panel behind the toilet was warped and the door was water damaged. In the bedroom, there was an oil filled radiator which was absolutely filthy.The bed was a small double.The divan bed base was mouldy as was the mattress. The mattress was old, stained and topped with a mattress topper, this did nothing, the bed was uncomfortable and we did not sleep properly. Our room (no 4) is not suitable for guests, it needs the damp sorting, a new bed and a good clean. It would also have been nice to have some toiletries in the bathroom.

Great food available

Lovely place to stay for the night. The food was good the and the staff were welcoming. My only comments would be to upgrade the shower and provide a more efficient hair-dryer.

Very friendly staff . We loved the dining car for dinner . We left early in the morning , so we didn’t try the breakfast. Our room was on the smaller side but very comfortable and loved the decor . Set in a separate building from the pub and dining room .

Lovely place, lovely people, lovely food and great value for money

Had the worst nights sleep, the mattress was so bad we would have been better off not having it. I am not tall but my feet over hung the end of the bed and everytime you moved the noise from the mattress and fear of falling off as it was so small just meant no sleep! Didnt eat here so cannot comment on that. But shame the room was good just need a bigger bed and new mattress!!!
