Sofitel Lyon Bellecour

One could see that this was a 5star hotel. But this was long ago. The hotel has not been renovated and is still in old shape and styl. Not worth 5 stars

Cold floor in a bathroom

Das Sofitel Bellcour ist an zentraler Lage auf der Halbinsel von Lyon. Das Personal am Empfang sowie im Restaurant war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind zweckmässig und komfortabel eingerichtet. Das Bad mit der grossen Dusche ist ein grosses Plus. Insgesamt ein sehr gutes Hotel

Amazing classy hotel but bar and restaurant closed on SUNDAY - small bar on ground floor open though, so all good in the end.

We had just finished a river cruise and needed a hotel for 2 nights before flying home. We arrived around noon and were able to check in early. The location makes for easy walk to get around the old city of Lyon. So much to see and do in the area. Our double classic room (queen bed) was perfect for our needs. Hallways could use some updating. The 8th floor bar has spectular city/river night time views but is “tres” pricey.

The room felt very spacious after we stayed in Paris.

Une tres mauvaise expérience et pourtant je suis un habitué du sofitel , la chambre avait un problème de chaffage et meme quand c'est fermé, l'emplacement de la chambre lui rend a effet de serre. Je me suis réveillé a 4 h du matin et j'ai pas pu m'endormir après ! A noter également l'attitude du receptioniste au moment du check in qui ma donné l'impression qu'il m a offert le sejour tellement il etait froid !

The a/c did not work properly, I had to open the window for cool air but couldn’t sleep well because of the noise outside. The toilet in the bathroom had almost no space to sit, the wall was 2 inches away from my knees

Une bonne option pour le comfort, par contre les chambres ont besoins de rénovations.

Stadthotel in guter Lage. Einrichtung etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Gastronomie sehr gut (schönes Frühstücksbuffet, sehr gutes Restaurant). Positiv: Minibar steht gratis zur Verfügung.

Beautiful well-run classic hotel. Excellent restaurant.
