Dreams Sands Cancun Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

Overall a good stay. THE GOOD: Service and employees are all amazing. Especially Maria at the EL PATIO restaurant and Elmer at the BARRACUDA main bar, they definitely went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. Carlo at El Patio was also great. Food, drink selection is very good as well all around. They even have a coffee and pastry shop open all the time, which is also included. Location is great as well, walking distance to the main strip and the beach is one of the best. THE BAD: The main pool is in DESPERATE need of repairs. There are literally hundreds of small tiles missing on the pool floor, my 6 year old kid even got a small cut on his toe from stepping on one of them. There are 2 other pools next to the main one which are nicer and in much better shape, steer away from the main one. Also, they advice you to make reservations on their app for the HIMITSU teppanyaki tables every day at 3:15pm as they release them BUT we tried every single day of our stay at 3:15pm and they never had a table available, ended up eating at Gaucho Grill and El Patio instead, so plan on not getting into that restaurant ( even though it looked slow ). Rooms could use a little updating as well, they show the hotel’s age. Overall worth the money but could be better.

Very clean and staff friendly and helpful. Very relaxing but need more themed adult events/entertainment in pool area.. like foam parties etc..

This resort started out ok but dining staff are not attentive. The food was not great which made the all inclusive a waste of money since we had to go out for most meals. The first night we had turn down service then down hill cleaning afterwards. They provided one washcloth the first day and then we had to ask for additional and again were only provided one washcloth. We have stayed with this brand before but will not consider this particular resort again.

This was the worst hotel that I ever stayed in Cancun dirty things broke in the room not enough space

Property condition is ok, a little bit old. Bathtub is broken. Service is good. Food is ok. Bring your cash for Tips. However excursion is not meet my expectation. Bring cash or money exchange into peso to pay for excursion bc if you pay by credit card, you will get charge more. A lot more. Like $300 cash, but if you pay by credit card it will be $350.

Room service and housekeeping respond time decreased significantly as we stayed with them.

Too much seaweed couldn’t get in the beach, the seaweed smell was super strong and unpleasant. Restaurants were great and friendly staff.

Beautiful Scenery

You can’t smoke anywhere on the premises. The military will take you to jail if caught smoking and they charge a penalty of $200 as well. If you are a smoker, find somewhere else to go

Definitely I love it the hotel was clean the stuff was really nice all the time, The only think is when I got to the airport I completely forgot to schedule a ride to the hotel and I ask a girl was having a poster with the name Expedia I ask her how can get a ride to the hotel and she was so rude she just said too late to schedule all rude

Check-in was smooth. The lobby is open, spacious, and beautiful—definitely a strong first impression. We arrived around 3 PM and visited the Preferred Lounge, but the food was just leftover brunch items and not very fresh. If you book through Expedia, note that they place a hold and you pay in full at arrival. Our room on the 10th floor (Preferred King Premium) felt outdated. Rusted faucet knobs, poor shower pressure, dim lighting, an old TV, and broken outlets next to the bed made the stay less comfortable. The beach was the highlight—absolutely perfect. The pools, however, had an overwhelming chlorine smell that made them uninviting. Food was the biggest disappointment. Portofino served cold, rubbery calamari and a steak that felt mass-produced. At the Pan-Asian spot, the sushi was lukewarm, the fried rice was bland, and the miso soup was overly salty. The Mexican restaurant was a bit better with decent steak and molcajete, but even the guacamole missed the mark. The World Cafe buffet was fine, and the omelet station stood out. Once you leave the lobby, the restaurant decor lacks effort and style. Elevators were slow and inconvenient. We probably lost about 15 minutes total just waiting for them. The staff was consistently friendly and welcoming. Everyone greeted us, which helped maintain a positive vibe throughout the stay.

The food was excellent and the service was even better!

The activities and the staff was very good and accommodating. The Hotel is in need of upgrade

This was absolutely one of the worst places I have ever stayed. The food in inedible. The staff is rude. The place is old. The restaurants are over run. They should be ashamed to say this is 4.5 star resort. Do not stay here.
