Clean room good location

It is a 5-star hotel but the carpet in the rooms smell moldy and gave me a sinus infection. My doctor prescribed me antibiotics upon return to the USA.

My stay at the Makati Shangrila has always been great and I will continue to stay there whenever I go back to the Philippines, most especially the staff, very courteous. My only regret was not able to get a reservation at the Sage Restaurant with my wife for a couples dinner, on Valentine’s Eve, next time will all in advance. I love coming back

The hotel was excellent! The staff was warm, friendly, and accommodating. The hotel front office manager, Nards Borondia, assisted us in transferring to a different room that was perfect for us. We will definitely stay at Shangri-La Manila when we visit the Philippines again.

Spacious room with all necessary amenities. We listened to some music in the hall. We ate at the Sage restaurant, it was delicious… We had a wonderful stay there, we used transportation back and forth. Thanks to all the people working there.

Check in process was handled well and the room was spacious and comfortable. Amenities are what you expect from a 5 star hotel and the staff are very friendly and courteous. My partner and I were only disappointed in the breakfast buffet which used to be a highlight but no longer. Western food options are limited and the buffet layout is confusing. This morning we had to wait briefly for a table although we arrived before 8:00am. When seated we noted many tables were empty but waiting to be cleared. They ran out of regular coffee cups and we were served with paper cups. Some of the buffet staff struggle with English. From the food offering it appears they are more interested in Asian visitors than in western customers. The only thing that remains 5 star with breakfast is the price. Other than the breakfast experience our stay was satisfactory.

Unfortunately, this visit did not live up to the standard of my previous stays. The reception staff were excellent, the pool area is wonderful, and the breakfast offers an outstanding selection. However, our experience at the Steakhouse restaurant was very disappointing. Our meals did not arrive at the same time, and one salad was served so late that my colleague had almost finished her main course. No apology was offered. We also had to ask the waiter to put the Veuve Clicquot on ice, and most concerning, our red wine was repeatedly placed in the ice bucket. As we had invited business associates, this was particularly unfortunate and quite embarrassing.

Everything was excellent most especially access to the Horizon lounge.

Excellent service by the staff except the dining ( both at breakfast buffet and the restaurant by the check in counter). Excellent room service. Room was spacious, all bathroom essentials were there, comfortable bed. Nice location surrounded by malls, etc.. Breakfast buffet subpar compared to other 5 star hotels in the Philippines and this hotel charged higher. The buffet spread was simply confusing.

Hotel is very crowded, big lobby very few couches, chairs to sit on. Circles buffet staff inattentive, very poor service.
