Makati Shangri-La Manila

The warmth of the Filipino people is the hallmark of what makes this country so attractive to travelers. And, at "The Shang" as the locals call it, it's exemplary. From the moment you step into the lobby, the greeters who open the door always have a smile, and their eyes shine with a welcoming expression that's incredible. The lobby is traditional and classic in style so it caters to multiple generations. Normally, I prefer a more contemporary look, but I really felt at home there. I loved the gym and the pool. I got extra help from on site trainers while I was doing a workout off my personal trainer's app, and they facilitated machine set ups and ensured I was using proper technique. This type of attention was truly 5-star. The spacious room had a gorgeous view of the city skyline and was kept in tip top condition by housekeeping. I enjoyed the copious breakfast buffet and sipping martinis in the lobby bar with talented, live entertainment. I would go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend this Shangri-La.
