InterContinental Mark Hopkins, an IHG Hotel

I've stayed in many hotels in SF, so far this one is my fave! Quiet despite being in the heart of things, an effortless walk to the Masonic for a show, and they graciously gave me a free room upgrade upon check in. I didn't want to leave!

The rooms need upgrading but the staff is very friendly. Location great and the food excellent. The room service is the best I have had.

Quick parking and check in. Polite staff.

The property is a historical piece of architecture and that’s the only thing special about it, room is dated including the furniture and appliances, window is too small but you can’t deny the view is amazing. Walkable to Chinatown and the entire downtown.

Beautiful lobby with friendly greeting from door to check-in. Only thing about room, flushing toilet in room 214 very noisy.

Wonderful classic hotel at the top of Nob Hill.

Very old hotel needs a complete updating to rooms and common areas.

First off, it is a classic SF icon of a hotel. (And the Fairmont across the street has rooms like the Mark since both hotels are 'seniors' yet classic beautiful public areas). The IHG group purchased it in 1973 and even during the late 90s it was still well maintained and didn't show its age). However now, it is showing its age! The rooms are meh since they are clearly aging (and NOT in a super classic way) and are very dated. The place needs a renov! Would I stay there again? Probably not. But I would go to the Top of the Mark for a drink and view. (TIP: The $85.00 a night parking fee is outrageous--reserve and stay at any of the couple parking lots for $40 a night if you must drive into SF)

Very nice, we stayed in the Mark Hopkins Suite. The bathroom was immaculate. Some areas were roughly around the edges like the sun room or the parlor lacking a refrigerator that wasn’t filled with pay-for items. We enjoyed our stay.

Good location, great for value. Need better pillows and food too expensive at restsurant.

Lovely old, gracious hotel. Nice big rooms, professional and helpful staff. At the top of Nob Hill so a good cardio to get around but I would definitely return and recommend to friends.
