Room is spacious and neat. Both reception and cleaning staff are friendly. I will be back at my next visit.

Didnt eat at the hotel

My experience during my stay at Hotel Arts was mixed with disappointment due to the grumpy receptionists at about midnight. I stopped at the reception at midnight and asked for a fresh new towel. There were two staff but one questioned me if one of them left to get a new towel, who would watch the reception? It was midnight, there was almost no guests. At least one of them could leave and grab a towel for me I hoped. It turned out neither of them provided a new towel to me. I then asked where the restaurant is and how much per person for breakfast, so tomorrow I could check out to see if I wanted to have breakfast there. One of the staff reception lost the patience and responded, there, you go and check yourself. The other one was better. He looked at me and responded with a more detailed answer. Having said that, the next morning, staff changed. When I checked out, there was a very nice female reception who provided great customer service to me.

We made a reservation at the poolside bar after receiving a message from the hotel to do so because they fill up fast- and they do. Our reservation was for 4 PM. We arrived at 3:55 and placed our drink order. After stopping servers that went by multiple times, and entering the restaurant twice, asking for a manager once, we finally received our drinks after over an hour of waiting. The worst part was they sent the poor server out to apologize like a sacrificial lamb when it wasn’t his fault as we had ordered through two people prior. Our bill was over $200, which isn’t a ton, but we were there to be patrons of the bar. You only get three hours, so our reservation was cut down to two hours because we lost an hour sitting and waiting and chasing people down. It was very disappointing as we had done all the right things that hotel suggested to ensure service. Our first round of drinks (3) was compt for full disclosure. If you do plan to attend the hotel pool and have drinks etc, I absolutely recommend a reservation as there were people who came in after us that were disappointed not to get a fireside table.

Room was clean, staff were attentive and friendly. We didn't get a chance to use the amenities but the pool looked nice. Will definitely consider staying here again whenever we're back in Calgary. Thanks!

Clean room, lovely staff.

My second stay here and it is now my go to hotel in downtown Calgary. Literally across the street from 3 of the hottest restaurants (Ten Foot Henry, Calcutta Cricket Club, Pat & Betty’s) in the city along with the coolest cocktail bar (Proof). Modern $ spacious rooms, indoor pool & gym as well secured underground parking. Walking distance to everything that matters. Hotel staff is helpful & friendly. Affordable & hyper local considering neighbouring hotels in the sane price point. Highly recommended.

Check in was slow and the room key to open the garage door for parking and the elevator didn't work for either. Made for an unpleasant start to the stay. Then there were no spots for parking at all on p1 so parked on P2 only to have a nasty note left from a KMSS employee say it was reserved.

Very clean facilities, friendly courteous staff, and a superb restaurant… all in the downtown heart of Calgary!

Great hotel!

Very hotel and unique hotel

First time staying here and we will be back. Our favourite hotel in Calgary so far. The staff were very kind and accommodating. Breakfast was phenomenal! Room was spacious, clean, easily accessible. Even other guys were kind! Recommend it. :)
