First time in the De Vere, will be back

Hotel is in a great location, lakes are beautiful but the rooms could do with an upgrade and I would’ve expected some nice touches like moisturiser etc like most hotels do.

Olivia on reception was amazing,She fixed me with a de luxe lakeside room at 12 pm ,so I didn’t have to wait until 3pm checking.The Hotel staff are helpful and kind,The location is superb,breakfast was delicious.I slept like a baby.

Overall super clean and friendly. Surprise no air con for such a modern property. Couldn’t amend room temperature other than opening the window whilst radiator on, seems a bit of a waste. Breakfast superb! So much choice and top quality. Brasserie closed Sunday nights so had to eat at The Old Boathouse. Not the best - staff amazing, food average at best. Understaffed in kitchen and out front. Our meals were ok, delayed but not too bad but saw two tables send theirs back as they were cold. Given it’s a fair drive or walk to go elsewhere it’s not the best hotel for food after breakfast. Gym OK, have to book and pay for pool so we swerved that. Room large and bed large. Not as the pictures for the bathroom which could have done with a refurb but all clean and serviceable. Would stay again though.

I feel the stay could have been better with greater attention to service. We paid for early check in, as we were attending a wedding and wanted to drop our things off/get ready. We were told that our twin bed set up had yet to be turned into separate beds from the king bed. When we got back at 12:30am, the beds hadn't been separated and at that point, just wanted to sleep. It was a really uncomfortable night. The room was stiflingly hot and there were only too small upper windows, not letting enough air in. It got to the point at 5am where it became unbearable, so we attempted to put the supplied fan on, but it made so much noise due to a bent fan, thankfully we managed to adjust it to stop the noise. Everything else was fine. Breakfast was good, the staff on reception were friendly... it's just a shame that the housekeeping service, broken fan, and poor ventilation in the room let the experience down. I couldnt bear to think what it would be like to stay in one of those rooms during a heatwave.

The staff were very friendly especially the restaurant staff so nice. And so amazing dog friendly no stress for the owners. Never seen anything like this. We will be back with our dog. Thank you so much.

Very noisy at night, guy in the room next door smashing his room up at 2am in the night. Shouting at this wife/partner with threatening behaviour. Keeping everyone awake and nothing from the staff to resolve the situation.

Very nice room clean comfortable but could have done with another reading light at the side of the bed Staff fab very obliging nothing too much trouble The best choice and quality of breakfast we have had for a long time in a hotel both taste and choice Would definitely stay again

Location

The hotel was lovely, and the view from the room was fantastic! Really modern and clean. The only slightly annoying thing is that you have to pay £10 per person for spa access (unless you’ve booked a treatment).

Great family room

Pool and spa were brilliant good for kids not too busy and nice areas to relax. Staff were really helpful at breakfast especially with the kids. It would have been nice to have a vegetarian sausages on the menu. Reception staff were amazing check in and checkout really efficient. Overall highly recommend and we would defo come back

Great hotel, lots to do and lovely views

Ok but not great

Lovely view of the lake from our room. Room was spacious. Cleaning lacked attention to detail - there was dust on the shelves by the kettle. The shower gel had been watered down. I wouldn’t eat in either of the restaurants if I stayed again. Food was overpriced for what it was. Breakfast was very busy and only one coffee machine for decaf coffee so had to wait quite a long time to access the machine Staff were friendly.
