Location within easy walking distance of train station..Solo traveller my room had a large dble bed, table one chair. Toilitries iron and board. Tv good wifi. Room overlooked main road etc and Atilita venue. With window closed it was noise free..amazing. also has secondary glazing. Everything for a pleasant stay Breakfast choice and a great menu and seperate bar. Also quiet lounge areas on the accomodation floors.

Very loud noise in the form shouting, screaming and banging, from the room next door was not only disruptive but also felt unsafe. It was reported to hotel staff earlier in the afternoon and it did stopped. But it started again in the night for over an hour.

The service at the bar for food and drinks too far too long and there is not enough staff. Hotel advertises restaurant but on both my stays I have only been allowed to offer bar food which was good the first stay and very bland on the second stay

Room smelt damp, bathroom was very dated and looked worn. The reception staff were very pleasant, but the lady at the bar, that served us late on the Friday evening was unhappy and was very unfriendly. Demanded ID from my son, and then didn’t hand it back but just left it on the bar. We felt like she wasn’t happy to be there…

Great location, nice communal areas but rooms were very dated and not the usual standard for this chain of hotels. The beds were comfy though!

This hotel needs a facelift. The carpet is coming up all over the hotel and in the rooms. The fixtures and fittings are dated and in our room, only 2 plug sockets worked out of 6. The walls are paper thin and the doors slam very loudly at all hours of the night. Wouldn’t stay here again.

I was staying due to doing the Great North Run the hotel is really nice and a stones throw from the train as for the room i stayed in room No.526 its a little outdated and possibly could do with being upgraded and cleaned there was stains on the back of the bathroom door it wasn't worth the price I paid for it

Poor level of cleanliness across the whole hotel and needs a refurbishment.
Beds were comfortable.

Check in was busy and took a bit long
Room, bathroom and bed all good
Only slight downside was no air con
Which meant window open but far too much noise to keep open so had to close and made sleeping a bit more uncomfortable
That said ideal location and would stay again
