The hotel was ok, a small section was a nice historical building with character but large bits are new and dated and not in a good way. The rooms where very hot and not air conditioned, it was cooler going outside in the 30+ def then it was in the room.
By biggest annoyance was the parking l, they have lots of it but it’s an extra £7 a night per vehicle, not per space. Now I know that seems an odd thing to say, but I stayed the with my father and we both traveled up by motorcycle. So we only take up one space yet we where made to pay twice that if a car!!!
We could have both parked in a space each but that’s petty. I felt the venue didn’t really care about its guests and where out to make as much as they could, it seems like a computer says no, type place with no common sense or consideration for guests that don’t fit there norm.
I wouldn’t stay there again at the prices they charge + the hidden extras.
Also all the staff seemed to be dressed differently no real uniform structure, no an issue, but it did make it slightly harder to identify staff from guests. Apart from the reception staff and one young lady on the bar all other staff seemed like they where maintenance staff that where mucking in to help with waiting on guest and bring out food.
Overall a very underwhelming experience and stay.

Staff were lovely,as was room etc. but aircon was not working and room was very warm (window didn’t open very far). A fan was provided, which helped but was faulty (made terrible noise over certain speed). A great location (short walk into town) and would stay again but must sort the AC out.

Blisteringly hot in the room and a/c not working. Windows all restricted opening so impossible to get through draft. Breakfast ok but good coffee would be a useful addition - and please will someone go a try a proper French croissant before serving these chewy tired imitations. Location great, pool a fabulous addition. Could be so good - just needs to belong to an organisation who care.

So excellent location for RSC theatre and Stratford, relatively cheap, good parking, nice pool, dog friendly… downsides … vanilla quality big hotel mass tourism, as far from boutique as possible. A/c not working on a hot day, rooms a bit tired.

Room is good size and comfortable. Aircon didn’t work very well. Some reception staff were good but one, possibly new, didn’t seem to know what to do.
We’ve stayed before and it’s very handy for the theatre with plenty of parking at reasonable cost. We didn’t have breakfast this time as we’ve eaten there before and it was dreadful. We had tea in the bar while waiting for checkin but were driven out by the awful muzac and the constant thudding, headache inducing beat in every song. Unfortunately you could also hear it in the nearby sitting room.
Guests should be aware that there are no lifts and frequent short flights of steps with no ramps.

Not a luxury hotel by any standards. Only good thing about it is location if you want to visit Stratford up on Avon and surroundings areas. Upgrade we bought not available. Food above average. I suppose it’s actually an ok hotel but sells itself as something much more so you naturally come away disappointed and dissatisfied.

Yes I had a great stay sadly I wasn’t able to do the dining experience or my breakfast but nevertheless clean sheets fantastic bed maybe just a little bit better on the tea and coffee side. I didn’t want to bother anybody for the fresh milk that should be in the fridge but all in all fantastic day, thank you

Everything was fine, friendly, helpful staff, good room, well fur is her. Only a few niggles - a pancake shower is not user friendly for a Quick shower, no USB sockets in the room, room service after 9pm was rather limited.

Unfortunately the air conditioning was broken and there was no one on site to take a look at it. As there was a fan in the room, we assume the air con wasn’t working.
We had a good welcome at reception. We were less impressed by there being no bar snacks/crisps at the bar on a Saturday night. The service was slow but they did apologise. The food in the dining room was very average. The pool was great. For the £214 we paid for the night (bedroom only) and it being part of the MacDonald group, we did expect better. It was a very convenient location.

We were pleased with the spacious room and superking bed.

We were glad we opted for an upgrade to a room in the Manor House. A lovely room. Breakfast was buffet but plenty of choices and coffee was okay. Service good. We visited the pool and steam and sauna which although obviously in need of a refurbish we still enjoyed. The bar and lounge areas were comfortable.
Our only problem, which was quite major for us, was Reception. My husband is disabled and we are both elderly, but when we asked for our bags to be brought down to Reception the Receptionist told us that the staff were all too busy as was she. In the event we left our bags in the room, and delayed our onward journey for an hour to help with our request. Room 2 has steep and shallow stairs that we couldn’t have managed with cases, overall left a very unpleasant taste after an otherwise enjoyable stay. I have asked for the Manager’s email or to get in touch privately but no joy.
