Look the place is fine, old, needs done up but fine for one night, very much a workers stop over, plenty white van's. You wouldn't be taking your wife for a weekend away.

This place needs complete renovation. Very old and tired. I would not recommend or stay again

This place needs to be condemned. It’s horrible. There was blood splattered up the walls in the bathroom, everything was just grim. Happy to have parking but that’s literally all the place had going for it. I’d probably have been more comfortable sleeping in my car.

No hot water, holes in carpets, not a good experience

This is the worst-kept hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was dirty and mouldy, the net curtain had been cut in half, and there were no spoons provided for the tea and coffee facilities. The corridor smelled awful, and the window from the room next door was lying in the overgrown wasteland outside. There was a huge pile of rubbish in the car park, the beds were uncomfortable, and some of the lights in the room did not work. Parts of the room were also missing decoration and fittings. We pulled the bed out and found that it had clearly not been hoovered for a very long time. On a positive note, the rubbish-filled car park was convenient, the high street nearby is pleasant, and I would add that the receptionist was friendly and helpful

position great for Tonbridge. Room clean and comfortable. Shower over bath mucky with mildew around bath taps etc. Needed sprucing up. No fans available and was very hot. Hotel old and tired. Could be thriving if money was spent on it. Cheap price. Cooked breakfast good

Where do I start… It’s nóthing like the pictures as advertised. The whole place is rundown. Threading carpets, wallpaper missing/torn off, rickety doorhandles…Booked for two persons 3 nights. In the room: leaky broken showertap in a slippery bath. 1 mug for “complimentary” coffees & tea (read cheapest brand instant possible). The beds… because I had to remake the bed, I saw the matrass.. I don’t wish that upon my worst enemy. Incredibly gross. And a bad matress to sleep on as well. Breakfast is advertised with french rolls, pastries, cheese etc. What was offered: cheap jam, cheap yoghurt, a flimsy halfheated conveyor toaster and coffee. Fresh juice.. not so fresh as it was the cheapest juice from a carton. The coffee was good though. You can order cooked breakfast. The breakfast staff was embarrassed when I asked for said advertised cheese etc. The whole place looks like management has done their utmost to enrich themselfs at the expense of their guests, which is a shame, because the building itself has such a rich history and potential.

Each and every staff member were amazing!! Very helpful did what they could to solve every situation and went the extra mile given issues with rooms. Hotel needs some repairs and refurbishment in quite some areas like electrical, decor and cleanliness throughout. Great location and opposite the castle. Overall good stay for 1 or 2 nights. Only breakfast option. Bar had no mixers, no coke or lemonade. Well done to the reception staff for their excellent service!

Place was dusty, toilet didnt flush, room was very hot, mattress very thin and unsupportive/lumpy, bathrooms in lobby didnt have any paper to dry your hands with and soap dispensers had water in them. Do not stay here

Absolutely avoid at all cost terrible place to stay

The Rose and Crown was sufficient,needs money spent on it throughout to bring it up to date. Couldn't get any food to eat,dining room was only for bed and breakfast customers. 1 cup in the bedroom,2 teabags,3 sachets of coffee,no glass in the bathroom, only 1 set of towels in the bathroom.

Very tired looking hotel. In need of some TLC. Staff were fairly helpful but the bar wasn’t very well stocked either.

I rarely write reviews but I needed to express our extreme disappointment at the standard of the Rose and Crown Hotel in Tonbridge. The external elevations are very tired but when inside it gets far worse. As with the outside, paint is peeling off everywhere and it looks as though no maintenance or upgrading has been carried out for many, many years. However, the worst thing is the lack of cleanliness. We were loathe to put any of our belongings down on any surface because they were so dirty. Although we had booked as two guests we only had one towel, there seemed to be some surprise when we asked for another one. The breakfast was disappointing, minimal with the sausages tasting more of grain than meat, the orange juice ran out and there were no pastries. We only saw two members of staff, one in the evening and one in the morning. Both were ok but neither seemed to want to go out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. We are both in our mid 60’s and have stayed in many hotels. We both believe that this is the worst hotel that we have ever stayed in. Unless you really have no option I would suggest that you don’t stay here

The staff were helpful and switched me to a ground floor room because of mobility issues. Unfortunately the room smelt and had obviously had a damp issue in the past from the stained furniture. The room was also FULL of moths, ive never seen so many in one room before.

Looks like this was once a really nice hotel but it feels dated and in need of a spruce up and some investment. Bar choices were limited as none of the taps were working. Free Parking was good and loads of food options nearby.

Ok for my one night stay. Hotel itself a bit tired in places. Hot breakfast was great. Made to order with selection of cereals and yoghurts too. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Staff were great and really friendly. The guy on nights was very helpful. Parking good. Would have liked the tea/milk etc to be replenished on the 2nd day but otherwise no problems.
