My experience at Solmar Resort was highly disappointing due to a pervasive culture of neglect and an unprofessional staff. From check-in onward, I felt consistently ignored at the front desk, restaurants, and bars, quickly realizing that service quality is entirely dictated by the size of your tip; if tips are small, staff members frequently ignore your requests altogether. This was incredibly obvious at the pool bar, where I sat unacknowledged for 15 minutes while other guests received completely different, prompt treatment. The attitude at the restaurants was particularly frustrating, as some servers openly rolled their eyes and gave me rude looks for asking for minor menu modifications, flatly telling me "no" without even checking with the kitchen. Despite paying for an all-inclusive package, the menu was very limited, and the meal timing windows were extremely strict with absolutely no flexibility for vegetarian guests. For eg, You can’t order fresh juice or fruits after noon. The sole exception was a fantastic dinner manager (an absolute 11/10) who listened to my requests for vegetarian alternatives and worked with the kitchen to ensure I got an amazing veggie dinner; tellingly, the staff only treated me fairly when he was actively standing there. To make matters worse, the property is completely dead with zero day or night activities, turning into a ghost town with no music or entertainment after 8:00 PM. I would not recommend this resort to anyone.
