Sometimes you just want to splurge a little on accommodation, so I went with a bit more upscale with Pullman Cairns International and selected a room with balcony and view of the bay. Room was clean and spacious, with a bathroom that had a bathtub and shower. A nice firm bed and plenty of flat surfaces to put your things. And with refrigerator too. Thank you to Larissa at the front desk for assigning me a great room that is quiet and comfortable that I didn't feel like going out (almost). Breakfast is buffet style and was $35AUD if you book it the day before, but it had many options. And well worth it if you want the convenience. Location is close to the pier (for Great Barrier Reef cruises, etc.), and within walking distance (10-20 minutes) to the night market, farmer's market and train station. Not to mention restaurants and stores nearby. Definitely worth a look for luxury and convenience.

5살 아들과 하는 여행이였는데 퀸베드라 둘이 자기에 충분히 넓고 룸 자체도 다른 호텔 보다 넓은 편이여서 숙박하는 동안 답답하지 않았어요. 옆방에 지인이 숙박했는데 전혀 소리 들리지 않을 정도로 방음도 잘됐구요.

The staff were excellent. Very friendly. Had dinner in dining room. Wine was off but staff replaced with a fresh glass. Food okay. Could have been better for an International Hotel. Room air con had a smell when on. Weather was great so did not turn air con on.

We stayed for one night and it was a nice sized room with a small balcony. My husband pointed out that the TV was rather small and there were stains on the sheets and the furniture upholstery. We didn’t use any of the amenities, but we could see the pool from our hall and it looked very refreshing. The best part of the hotel is that it was walking distance to the Great Barrier Reef tours. Overall, I would stay there again, but it was just average and I would look for another place near that location before rebooking this hotel at the price we paid.

Great central place to stay with the wharf very close and the casino just across the road. Rooms that have been renovated are lovely, the ones that haven't been are very outdated and damaged and even though we booked 2 the same had different size beds, tiny TV's, no balcony furniture, bath in one and not the other, and then smelled mouldy. Staff were very obliging and upgraded our rooms due to the condition and smell to the amazing rooms.
Buffet breakfast was nice, lots to choose from and always been refreshed and refilled.
Parking was an extra daily fee, and you can go in and out away times as you needed.
The main foyer was clean and inviting with a tourist desk to book if required.
The gym was basic but usable.
Pool was very clean with loads of deck chairs.

Rooms were clean and tidy with only the upper four floors yet to be renovated. All staff were pleasant and well presented. They were very obliging when ask for assistance.
The breakfast selection was immense and catered for every requirement.

What is there to say? The location was very central, the whole experience was wonderful. Beautiful building, Beautiful lobby, excellent rooms. I highly recommend it and would return myself.

Property is looking a little old and dated could use some sprucing up
Breakfast buffet bit boring, same thing everyday, most was cold except toast and fresh cooked eggs, not worth $40 per day
