톨라르노 호텔

예약할때는 시설에 간이주방이 있다고 해서 갔는데, 가보니 간이 주방이 없어서 호텔스닷컴에 연락해서 설명 하였습니다. 호텔 방을 옮길지 몰라서 방에서 한참 대기하고 있었는데, 호텔스닷컴에서 리워드 프로그램 고객에 따라 업그레이드가 가능하다고 하여서 추가비용을 내고 방을 스튜디오룸으로 옮겼는데 아주 크고, 주방도 잘 되어있고 좋았습니다. 거기서 우리는 오랫만에 요리도 해먹고 즐거운 시간 보냈습니다. 한가지 아쉬운건 커튼이 너무 작고 거기서 강한 빛이 세어나오는데 제가 잠잘때 눈에 빛이 들어와서 잠을 잘 못잤습니다. 호텔위치 및 커튼을 좀 수정하면 아주 좋을것 같습니다. 전반적으로 깨끗하고 카운터분은 정말 젠틀하시고 마치 영국 고급호텔에 체크인 하는듯한 느낌을 받았습니다. 참, 주차장은 근처에서 10불만 주면 24시간 in/out 가능해서 좋았습니다.

Great service and place to stay. Very colorful with it's artwork. Quiet stay and easy access to the tram line across the road.

Not worth it.

Location of hotel in St Kilda was excellent. The Tolarno itself has an arty boutique feel. It looks a bit tired in places but if you can past that I would stay again. 2 mins walk to great Irish bar - Fifth Province. You need to go there.

Great location for what I needed. But no meal facilities and the wifi was no existent. I ended up having to hotspot my phone.

Hotel very untidy, noisy and bed uncomfortable. Great location for st kilda beach, trams and restaurants. You can hear ever door close. Shower water pressure great but would randomly go hot and cold.

Conveniently located to transport, spacious rooms. Felt like a home away from home. The staff were very friendly and very helpful.

Friendly staff member who waited for me to check in a little late. Good atmosphere at the hotel with lots of interesting art works.

Only one mug one glass and utensils for one person.

Love that the business has a history of Australian art, having connection to Mirka Mora, art gallery director and well known art collector. So good to see ongoing paintings of all sizes and contemporary styles in the rooms and hallways. Stephen at the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable - a delightful person.

Being surrounded by artwork. High ceilings in old building. Easy parking. Tram. Friendly and helpful staff.

Tolarno iS iconic in Melbourne. I remember it as an art gallery in the 1980s, when it was the scene of incredibly diverse exhibitions, managed by George Mora, the son of gallery founders, George and Mirka Mora. Mirka is renowned for her painting illustration work, with its distinctive patterning. Tolarno is a brilliant hotel conversion. Art is everywhere, distinctive recognisable art of diverse media and style. In some areas it is as if pieces of gallery have been hewn from the old walls and repurposed to continue its education and entertainment roles here. Tolarno was known for its hearty food, generosity of spirit and hospitality. All of those qualities are on display now, and the staff generate a welcoming vibe even when they are not around. One never feels stranded. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained, with a strong character of homey architecture before the ubiquitous marble, plastic and flat plasterboard of contemporary hostelries. There are no lifts and rooms are on various levels, making the place inaccessible to many, but its lack in this area probably contributes to its incredible affordability. You are right in the midst of Fitzroy Street here and on the quieter side of the street. I heartily recommend Hotel Tolarno.

The staff at Tolarno's are very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. The hotel is quirky and has been a part of the neighbourhood for decades. It is full of artwork and the downstairs restaurant - currently closed for renovations - will be a welcome re-addition when it eventually reopens. The property is within walking distance to the beach, eateries, venues. The tram stop is literally outside the door and a tram journey into Melb CBD takes approximately 15 minutes. The property, given its age, is not perfect, but is a local landmark and should be preserved as is.

I am a returning guest to Tolarno's, a quirky building that has been a feature of St Kilda for decades. The staff at Tolarno's are splendid people, polite, accommodating and helpful. I will happily return again. Thank you.
