The room was fine.
The only criticism is that the hotel is advertised together with its bar-restaurant, but the place always has events where they charge a cover charge and limit guests from dining there. This is inconvenient, as one would expect a hotel with a restaurant to allow guests to eat there, but charging a cover charge makes no sense.

The room was affordable, clean, and well-located. Very close to the subway station, the streetcars, and many good restaurants. It smells immaculate, but it can get very cold, and the heater took quite a while to heat the whole room. While the room and the hotel are clean, we were hesitant to use the dryer because it was full of dust. Apart from that, we are delighted with our stay and hope to come back again if we visit Toronto.

This was my first time staying at the rex. I just needed somewhere downtown to spend the night. The Rex was perfect for the price. The staff were friendly, flexible and helpful. The room was clean and there are posters and art everywhere, it's a charming spot to explore the city from woth great restaurants and entertainment nearby. I'll be booking with them again.
