Hotel antigo, mas muito bem conservado. Surpreendeu positivamente, pois o custo-benefício é ótimo! O único problema enfrentado foi para agendar o jantar nos restaurantes de especialidades, que são apenas 3. Exigem estar na fila para retirar senha às 7:30, sendo que somente às 8h da manhã o atendente chega para informar se ainda existem vagas. Das 6 diárias em que nos hospedamos, conseguimos jantar somente no Italiano em uma noite. Em razão da Barceló ser uma rede tão grande, poderia disponibilizar um app para isso, à exemplo dos RIU e PRINCESS.

It overall was a great stay. There was a language barrier, but we understood that, going to a different country. The room was mostly clean, minimal things were missed. For the price, you absolutely get what you pay for.

Our experience at this resort was extremely disappointing due to a lack of customer service and several concerning issues during our stay. Throughout the evenings, we were never offered beverages with meals, and it was often difficult to get staff members to acknowledge us. The level of service consistently fell below expectations for a resort. The condition of our room was also unacceptable. The bathroom ceiling was covered in black mold, which raised serious cleanliness and maintenance concerns. Additionally, we had an unpleasant experience at the pool. After placing our towels and shirts on lounge chairs and entering the pool, we watched our belongings being tossed on the ground, and taking our chairs for other guests without any communication or explanation. During our stay, several local guest informed us that the resort primarily caters to local visitors. We felt unwelcome as American guests throughout our visit. As a result of these issues, we chose to leave the resort early. Although we had paid for a six-night stay, we departed after four nights and incurred an additional $500 in airfare costs to return home ahead of schedule. The one positive aspect of our experience was the food, which was consistently very good. Unfortunately, the quality of the dining experience was not enough to offset the numerous service and accommodation concerns we encountered. American tourists are definitely not welcome at Barcelo.

El hotel es cara para la pésima alimentación y ambiente del Hotel, vi gente peligrosa, mucho delincuente y Sus familias, además la alimentación muy básica, yo he estado en Barceló a nivel mundial, este lo que da es vergüenza y encajona a Costa Rica, como tercer mundo y así administran el hotel, espero que sea el hotel que tiene que ser

Great resort for the entire family

Very messy place, understaffed and the choice of meals very limited. Facilities are in poor condition and not clesn

This hotel was family-friendly and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to book excursions through the hotel and spa services as well. There is an aviary on site with macaws, peacocks and other birds. The is a stable on site as well. We were able to go horseback riding on the beach. There are three restaurant choices in addition to the buffet and snack bar. Reservations need to be made a day in advance in order to have dinner at the steakhouse, sushi restaurant, and Italian restaurant. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there although it is quite far from the San Jose airport. It is a two hour drive on the toll road, one hour on the ferry and another 20-30 minutes to the resort. If you don’t mind the traveling, you should book there.

The ceiling fans really need to be cleaned. Mine had 2 inches of dust which was not good for my allergies.

The staff was extremely nice and very helpful. The specialty restaurants were all great, but the traditional buffet felt repetitive. Did 2 excursions that the hotel organized and those were both great. Overall, the property needs a little upgrading, but the services were amazing.

Enjoy the activities entertainment the areas clean

Terrible customer service. Have to stand in line for three hours every morning if you want to make a reservation at the Restaurants. Drinks are limited and very watered down! Have to stand in line to get a beer! Our honey package was 12oz of champagne and 4 strawberries. It’s too bad this place is managed so poorly because it’s a beautiful area!

The grounds of the resort are well kept and quite nice. The rooms are pretty worn out and not very well cleaned. The beach is great and the pools are nice. The food was pretty good with lots of options. Some of the staff were awesome, like a handful of them. However most of the staff, we found to be very unfriendly. Unlikely to return, mostly because the vibe didn’t feel overly welcoming. The rooms were not great but we didn’t mind as we spent almost no time in the rooms.

Had to ask to get towels delivered to the room after they took them and didn’t bring any back. The swimming pool is closed earlier than expected. Didn’t restock the amenities in the room. The food was OK but worse than what I was expecting.

The amenities were great and the pools were very good. The vibe/ambiance was very inviting. Our room was a nice size and the maid was excellent. We took advantage of the plentiful tables and chairs in the common areas. We were disappointed more key staff couldn’t understand English ( at reception and in dining rooms). Also felt more care could have been taken in mixing drinks.

I will start by saying the 3 star rating is for the long waits for food and overcrowded pools The property is very beautiful and is right on the beach If you have 3 or 4 kids under 10 and want to let them run wild then this is your place If your going as a couple then choose any other hotel I would not stay here again We are frequent travelers to Costa Rica
