Upon arrival the staff greeted us with a very pleasant attitude and smile. They were great the entire stay. We went on an early morning tour to see the Resplendent Quetzal. Our tour guide was the best. He is very experienced and knows everything about the Quetzal. He has been working at Trogon for 15 years. The food was amazing and the scenery was top notch!!! We loved our time there.

Este hotel es espectacular! Pasamos un fin de semana increíble! El bosque y clima típico del área es protagonista del encanto de San Gerardo de Dota y Trogon Lodge lo sabe aprovechar. Estamos enormemente agradecidos por el servicio y atención tan especial del staff. 100% volveremos a ir!

Superbe hôtel. Équipe accueillante et agréable. L’hôtel est situé en pleine nature et c’est vraiment incroyable. Le restaurant est très bon mais un peu cher quand même. On a fait une excursion pour voir des questzals. Un peu cher pour juste se balader d’un endroit à l’autre en voiture. On pensait marcher un peu dans la nature pour les trouver. Mais on recommande cet hôtel car le lieux est magique

La experienci de forma general fue muy buena, la atención fue muy excelente, el lugar perfecto. Las amenidades y actividades lo necesario, es un lugar para desconectarse. Mi única recomendación sería que la cama fuera un poco más grande tipo king.

Beautiful lodge in the mountain forest with beautiful landscaping around the individual cottages along a hill. Delicious food and very friendly staff. The perfect location for birdwatching, particularly the Resplendent Quetzal. Hence we saw one male, a female and a juvenile quetzal for about 30 minutes during the special quetzal tour in the morning, in addition to a male quetzal right at the lodge and another one that I could film along the nature trail of the lodge.

Una naturaleza increíblemente bella en todas las areas, el hotel muy bien pensado en armonía con la naturaleza la cual se aprobecha en cada cm, solo recomendaría mas opciones de menú, tanto variedad, costos y porciones, asi realmente no es necesario salir del hotel solo para ver los alrededores.

The room is spacious and the beds are comfortable. WiFi is only available in shared areas such as the reception, bar and restaurant.

Cabañas sencillas pero en un entorno espectacular y con unas zonas comunes muy bonitas y comodas

This was a magical place to stay! The grounds were incredible, the restaurant a delightful experience, and the trails full on cloud forest adventure! The breakfast after our morning hike was just perfect!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I've been to Costa Rica five times, and Trogon Lodge is by far my favorite place I've stayed. The location in the beautiful San Gerardo de Dota Valley is absolutely breathtaking. Set along the river, the property is filled with stunning plants, incredible birdlife, and wildlife around every corner. There's even a beautiful trail on the property that leads to a waterfall. Our cabin was clean, cozy, and comfortable, with thoughtful touches like a space heater and hot water bottles for the bed. The property offers plenty of peaceful spots to relax, as well as a welcoming bar area where you can enjoy tea, snacks, games, or pool. The restaurant was excellent, and the staff were friendly, accommodating, and genuinely welcoming. Since the road to the lodge is steep and winding (but very manageable), having such a wonderful restaurant on-site meant we could enjoy the evening without driving after dark. The included breakfast was fresh, delicious, and filling. We also took the Bird Tour and Quetzal Tour. Our guide was incredible, helping us spot amazing birds we never would have found on our own. Seeing six Resplendent Quetzals was an unforgettable highlight. This is authentic Costa Rica at its finest. I didn't want to leave and can't wait to return.

Geat experience. Lovely hotel.

Quiet, clean, and abounding with lovely rustic charm. A terrific place to unplug and get back to nature. Staff is kind, grounds are just beautiful with lots of places to tuck oneself in with a book or to just daydream. Breakfast was perfect. My husband recommends their pancakes:)
