Great location, excellent stylish decor, comfortable dining area and friendly, helpful staff. Recommended.

First time we’ve stayed here , and being relatively local, visit Newcastle often. The hotel is classy and comfortable, with brilliant staff . A few minutes walk to the Glasshouse and located on the quayside with some great restaurants and bars nearby. Parking was easy with hotel reserved parking at the rear of the hotel. Without a doubt, this will be our first choice for overnighters in Newcastle.

We have stayed here before and wanted to come back. We booked a classic King and got the opportunity to bid for an upgrade to the Executive suite and got it. When we arrived, there were no Executive suites ready and they put us in a Signature suite instead at no extra cost. The staff here are so friendly and go above and beyond and made our stay so enjoyable. Perfect place to celebrate our anniversary.

Great hotel! Really clean throughout, great staff, very helpful. Will definitely be our go to hotel when visiting Newcastle!

wow what a fantastic stay. we only stayed for one night but it felt like a few days it was that relaxing. prior to our stay I was emailed about making an offer to upgrade our room, so I put an offer in for a junior suite which was accepted. what a beautiful room.. large, spacious, well set out, amazing bathroom and proper air con that kept the room fresh all night. although the bed was that comfy I could have slept through a heatwave. a special shout out to Ovi at the breakfast. he was the most pleasant, professional and friendly waiter! we were well looked after... so much so that when Ovi found out we were driving back to York he went off and made a pack up for our travels! thank you Ovi! we don't go to Newcastle often but when we go again I'll be back to the Dakota! Fantastic!

We stayed in a double room with a view of the River Tyne - it was great, with a large bath and shower, comfortable bed and plenty of space. Everything felt brand new, as if we were the first people to use it. A truly luxury hotel, probably the best in Newcastle right now.

We booked a junior suite for a 2 night stay in Newcastle in April. My wife found this hotel online as we wanted to stay in town for a change. We arrived by car - option of valet parking (£40) or park at the lot behind the hotel - hotel as an air of Ralph Lauren interiors about it and the room was very clean. Some issues; the window light left watching TV impossible and the bath wasn't able to produce hot water. Oddly the sink and shower were fine. The bar area was dimly lit (not dark) and beautifully furnished. I ordered what turned out to be the best White Russian I have had in a long time. The restaurant was equally luxurious. I ordered the duck salad, which became my instant favorite, and we both ordered steak, fries and sauce with rocket salad. Still think about it today. Everyone we met, from housekeeping to front of house, was great and we look forward to a future stay.

Lovely hotel, bedroom and bathroom were beautiful and spacious. Hotel staff were.incredibly helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Everything is beautiful, bedroom, bathroom, bar area. We ate in the grill restaurant which was also fabulous! The glazed cauliflower side is to die for! I would definitely recommend it.

Excellent quality hotel and staff very attentive. Made to feel very welcome and nothing a problem. Bed a little too firm for our liking but great room. Breakfast a little space for value but cooked lovely.
