We did not stay as rooms were terrible. Damp mouldy smell triggering my asthma, room filthy, tatty and from the 80's. Will never stay at a Legacy again.

El hotel es hermoso , el staff muy àmable y el desayuno muy bueno. Lo único que nos sorprendio e incómodo fue que en una estancia de 3 NOCHES, la habitación nunca se limpió, ni siquiera se sacó la basura o se cambiaron las toallas. Es una lástima si falta de limpieza ya que nuestra calificación hubiera sido mucho mejor si esto no hubiera pasado

Friendly staff. Quiet location.

Our quiet ground floor room was plenty big enough with comfortable beds and a partial view to the river. There were some issues with lights and plumbing which were partly sorted. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good with plenty of hot and cold options. The cooked menu was a bit bit limited for vegetarians/vegans. It takes around 15 minutes to walk to the cathedral and another 10 to get into the town. Overall we were happy and would stay there again.

The room was nice .. an authentic old experience. The floors where uneven which is normal for these older buildings however the bed was subsequently on a slant.. making a rest full sleep difficult.. I know the floor cannot be changed but the bed could be level I think.. the bathroom was cleaned to an “ok” level although there where hairs in drain and the soap dispenser carriers where caked with old soap runs.. so a bit of a miss there. The restaurant was “ok” but could also use a deep clean as the courtesy self serve coffee bat machines where very dusty on the top and in plain view.. so not bad overall .. I would probably not return as we had to also change our reservation within 24 hrs of making it but they still charged us an additional 20 pounds to do so.. I could understand if it was busy season but it was winter and the place was empty. Same with the parking and the 5 pound charge which I thought was a bit of a reach..

+ Good location right next to the river and a 10 minute walk into the centre. Nice spacious rooms and a good buffet breakfast. - You have to pay for parking.

Extra bed given was not enough for an adult They were busy sorting out Xmas party so less staffed and delayed check in We had booked for 3 people Otherwise hotel is good

The room was nice,reception staff really friendly

The room had a good view of the river and Cathedral. Having stayed several times in the past we felt that the breakfast choices were not as varied as in the past .

The room was lovely and warm, but the bathroom was very cold. The sink took an awful long time to empty and the body wash by bath had run out.

Room ok but I forget to say room 23 had a shower which COUNDLNT TURN DOWN THE SHOWER TEMPERATURE and it was scorching! I will never stay in a hotel which charges for car parking again

Good size room and clean

Nice room with access to garden and river, as requested, good food at dinner. Now going to breakfast.

Lady on reception was lovely and friendly. Such an interesting old building, obviously not immaculate as it is not modern, but full of character and so comfortable. Easy walking distance to town and the cathedral but still nice and quiet area.

From the outset, staff were not very friendly. When we booked 2 rooms in June, we requested that one room be accessible for my 97 year old mother-in-law who is in a wheelchair. An email was received advising that the rooms were being redecorated and that one would be available. We phoned prior to arriving to confirm this and found out that the accessible room was allocated to me however this was rectified. We checked in at 2pm and requested afternoon tea only to be told that 24 hours notice was required (not stated on their website). Accessible room did not have a stool for the shower -we found one in the other room so, after asking at Reception, moved it to assist my mother-in-law with her washing requirements. This should have been checked beforehand! You cannot use a wheelchair in a shower! The rooms looked very old, tired and in need of repair so not sure what redecoration had taken place, as told beforehand. Whilst daily housekeeping is no longer available at this hotel, the supply of tea, coffee, sugar and toilet rolls should be given each day instead of us having to “beg” reception each time (and then we were only given a handful). Breakfast at the weekend was from 8am however only opened from approximately 8.07am on both days (staff had overslept, we heard). Items were not refilled either so once finished e.g. fruit bowl, not replenished. Same amount charged for each room however there was a big difference in each. Overall, disappointing service.
