Acceptable accomodation in an old building with character.

Le bâtiment style manoir à du potentiel ( magnifique escalier, vitrail,...). Il manque de propreté et mériterait une très grande rénovation faite avec goût. Notre chambre : moquette suspecte au sol, matelas inconfortable, trace de saleté sur les meuble. Le service café dans la chambre : 3 tasses, 1 petites cuillères. La salle d'eau : le mur en haut de la douche était moisi, certain produit individuel ont déja été utilisé, sur un radiateur à coté des toilettes, il y avait une trace noir.... Les murs sont très fin, on entendait des personnes ronfler et le matin, une odeur de cigarettes dans le couloir en sortant de la chambre. Petit déjeuner : pour chaque chambre qui prend le petit déjeuner, les tables sont préparées avec le nombre de convives. Sur notre table, serviette en papier dont une avait des traces de gras. Des couverts sales. Le petit déjeuner est à l'assiette possibilité de choisir entre petit dej anglais complet ou autre ( je ne me rappelle plus des 2 autres choix), et sur une table buffet, il y avait des céréales, du lait, des jus, beurre/confiture. L'assiette de petits déjeuners était très bien, mais le reste laisse un peu à désirer. C'est vraiment dommage.

I would come back in a heartbeat. The staff were really great. I felt like they had my back—like they really wanted us to have a great time. I slept well, the breakfast was good, and I really like a vintage vibe and this boutique hotel gives that. It was a great stay. Not too far to walk to Aldi, the owners were personable and very helpful.

A rather dated hotel ,thin walls, but really good staff who try hard to give guests a pleasant stay

Really horrible stay, damp on all the walls, mold in the bathroom, paint chipping off, uncomfy beds, dirty surfaces and not clean. Though it had breakfast with it we only ordered toast as we could see the cutlery was dirty. I took pictures and will upload if i can. Staff said it was recently taken over, however can see other reviews saying they have said that for months. I do not feel it is an excuse for the level of damp and mold in that room. It made all 4 of us really poorly the day after and I thought I was going to have an asthma attack while there. My son has horrid eczema and it flared up really badly too. I would not recommend this hotel. If we didn’t need to stay we would have left after an hour in the room and we left promptly in the morning. Not worth the £120 paid.

don't believe the reviews. Shower was so dirty my wife would not use it. No toiletries or anywhere to hang a towel. Food was poor, service ?. Left a day early as we were so dissapointed, so lost out on money.

Hotel deserves more than a 2 star. Great WiFi, comfortable bed.

Dated and dirty although the room was clean The radiator was on full blast and you could not turn it off I had to sleep with the window open.

Bedroom very dated. Corridor smelled of cigarettes . Dining Room was grubby. Was asked 4 times what I wanted and it was still wrong when it arrived. Also asked for a pot of tea and was brought a ‘builders’mug of tea with milk in it. Hotel very dated.

Basic but clean, comfortable bed. Great service, accommodating and friendly. Good breakfast.

Okay. The tub had no non slip tub stickers. I slipped on the tub and fell backwards out of the tub onto my back and hit my head. You need to put something non slip in your tubs. I was lucky I wasnt seriously injured.

We had a comfortable stay, bed was clean and comfortable, however never had 2 pillows in one case before… !! Unfortunately we had a snorer below but heyho, the shower didn’t have much pressure but towels were nice and it was good to have shower n shampoo… but no conditioner but the use of a hairdryer was good 👍 breakfast was ok, overall good 2 star hotel thanks for having us 🙏

Bed ok, pillows bad, staff great. Shower no pressure and tiny. Temp control of water awkward. Would normally be quite but there was a party that night which made it loud and the fireworks didn't help.

Great location and check in was smooth

The shower didn't work and there was no one in the building to help. The phone numbers listed, there were 2 similar with a single number changed looked like it was a typo, but that didn't matter because both numbers were not connected, completly useless no way of having a shower that morning. Also the kettle was dirty and the kettle lid had a crack in it that was probably dangerous.

Hair in my shower, bed was not comfortable. People living in the hotel. Smoking where you want to access rooms. The level of upkeep in the photos is not representative of how the hotel is currently.

Very friendly and comfortable

Decent room, clean and perfectly serviceable, plenty of hot water for showers. Much better than some of the reviews make you think. I guess it depends what you're used to? Breakfast was good as well, cooked to order, served on a hot plate, decent quality and quantity. While I might not bring my wife here for a romantic weekend, I'd be more than happy to stay with mates or for a work trip, so will be back in future when I'm in the area.

The hotel made us give loads of personal data ahead of time (photos, driving license images etc) and gave a key code to access keys but there was a reception. There seemed to be a bar but it was pumping loud, awful music so we didn't investigate. The room was horrible, old and poorly maintained. It was horribly hot with weird poor quality furniture in odd places (they clearly wanted a wardrobe but had no space so it was up against the entrance door.) what a shame as the exterior was immaculate.
