Room could have been cleaner, disastrous check in, was told there was someone who had checked in under my name already. Fierce strong smell of curry in the hotel

The evening meal available consisted of a vegetarian or meat three course meal presented as a buffet.I thought the quality and value for money was excellent.Staff in the restaurant were very helpful and attentive as were all other staff in the hotel. I enjoyed my stay whilst attending a conference nearby.

The main rooms are in a brick built extension that looks more like a premier inn that a lovely lodge like the pictures!!! Water leak in the reception on arrival. Reception staff not that helpful in explaining breakfast times or how to get to the room. Executive double Room was clean on initially walking in, thought dated in its appearance. 2 bottles of water in the fridge that was switched off. Kettle. Coffee machine. Large pedestal fan. Windows had limited opening hinges and lock staps on the windows both opened due to the radiator being stuck on as the radiator thermostat valve was broken due to its age. Coffee sprayed on the roof and some big holes in the walls Limited wardrobe space due to trousers press and ironing board being in there as well. Bathroom was clean and tidy, but damaged mermaid board on the walls no glass and a missing toilet roll holder where again a disappointment. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE BREAKFAST £9.99 a morning, coffee from single serving sachets. Bacon was bits, sausages where tray baked but not turned so white and skins peeling off, constantly running out of fried eggs beans tomato plates and you where lucky to get seated as they blocked half the dining area off. Plenty of Chesterfield seating areas. Over a 3 day stay the room was not cleaned or the coffes re-filled. Over all a disappointment, not what we thought we where getting, lack of cleaning, and the overall run down appearance lack of caring staff and poor food

Hotel could do with a spruce up but had a pleasant night regardless during a overnight stay for work trip.

Absolutely lovely place beautiful gardens should have vegetarian options for breakfast but all good xx

The staff hardly spoke or were helpful at all only one said morning to us. We asked for extra pillows but these never arrived. We were told breakfast was from 7 but it was 8 and when we went at 7.50am we were met with sighs all in all it was one of the most expensive rooms I have ever booked and the worst customer service

Hotel booked last minute to attend a concert at Coventry Arena. Felt it was expensive for 1 night, but booked as previously booked property fell through. Walkable to the stadium (about 50 mins). Hotel looks good from outside but rooms need some updating. Some of the communal areas need a good clean and decorating. Free parking (need to register details) and a charge for the swimming pool. Room was large and clean. Door not soundproof. Nice grounds

The leisure facilities were all closed to guests

Arrived at lunch time and on check in told “we don’t do food” for lunch. Not sorry sir im afraid we don’t offer lunch but - Don’t do food as a response was just rude. What was funny is there is a sign on the hotel door saying no food and drink to be brought into the hotel. Went to the bar where there was a sign up offering sandwiches so though oh maybe reception didn’t realise. Then got told by the bar staff that the menu was not for normal hotel guests and we werent allowed it. So again very rude as they were also offering Afternoon Tea if you had booked. Went to use the pool and changing rooms undergoing refurbishment which is fine but we were told to go and change in hotel room and come back. So they wanted us to walk through the hotel in swimming costumes from the 3rd floor. Again very odd and staff quite rude about this. The room itself was nice and clean and the hotel is set in some nice grounds, it’s a bit dated in areas which may explain some of the refurbishment but we had no warning of this. Disappointing stay, especially for the price, wouldn’t say this was value for money.

The room was clean and spacious, the girl on reception was cheerful, friendly and very helpful The only reason I marked the hotel down was because of the breakfast most of the items needed topping up and they had run out of bacon ( this was with still a hour still to go) also the morning staff didn’t seem very helpful The outside bar area also needs a bit of gardening maintenance The hotel setting was lovely and very convenient for the Coventry arena and very reasonable price

Hotel is lovely, lots of original features. Room was spacious and clean, however its old and tired, could do with a revamp.. Quite a few cobwebs on the ceilings and damp stains on the walls and ceiling.

Couldn't get food at hotel due to a large event on so not catering for other guest that was disappointing. Clean but old hotel

The bath was dirty, there was a hole in the bathroom door, and a dent in it too. The toilet flush failed at one point and there was no maintenance person on site till the morning. Thankfully it rectified itself. No plug in the sink. The TV didn't work, we tested the socket and it was the socket that didn't work. One of the 2 bedside table lamps didn't work (and was an ancient 2 pin plug!) There was no information in the hotel room about facilities, when things opened, when food was etc. There were some instructions on using the TV which said to refer to the information guide provided (but it wasn't!) We arrived at teatime, and found the food choices limited. We had to ask for plates, as they had run out. The "choice of puddings" was actually the chef's choice of one, although it varied through the course of the meal. When we got to pudding it was black forest gateaux, which neither me nor the kids fancied. Staff lady was helpful and found me a tin of peaches, so I was happy! The swimming pool wouldn't let the children swim (ages 14 & 11) until after 10am. (we were staying overnight) which was a real shame, as it was one of the reasons we had chosen the hotel. Over all it felt dated, unloved and in need of a cash investment. A shame as it would've been amazing in its heyday.

Lights and extractor fan not working in the room. Reports of worms in the swimming pool by other guests. However, we didn’t see any worms and thought the pool and leisure facilities were fine. Moved to a different room due to lights and fan not working then ended up with bed bug bites from the mattress. (Confirmed by pharmacist) wrote a complaint to hotel about this but received no response. Would not be staying there again. Expedia tried to help with some form of refund but hotel didn’t reply to them either.
